This is the first fly sheet I used on any of my horses but it seems to be a heavier material than some I’ve seen. With that said, my mare wore it the past few days in 60-80 degree weather and rain. She has a run in shed also but the sheet never seemed that wet and she was pretty dry underneath. This certainly isn’t waterproof nor was that my intention but it didn’t get soaking wet and stay wet and heavy on her for hours. It seems to fit well. I measured and ordered the recommended size. It is a little large in the neck (big around) but she’s a fairly petite mare. The neck has plenty of length so when she is grazing it does not pull on her ear/ head. This sheet does have soft stretchy material that goes around the horse’s forehead and ears to keep it up when not grazing. So far I’m pretty happy with this fly sheet. It definitely seems to be helping with her insect allergies. I hope it lasts through the spring/ summer.

I purchased this for my horse who has extreme allergies to midges/biting gnats. I am in South Florida where it is extremely hot and humid in the summer (90+ degrees with 80%+ humidity).. I did not even try to put this on my horse because it was clear from just touching the fabric that it was not breathable As advertised. I tried to return this three times and complained to Amazon twice. I didn’t hear from the seller or Amazon.

I read the reviews and thought I would take a chance. I guess it all depends on your horse. She only had a little soil on the hip from laying down at night. As soon as it started to rain in Tampa she had hundreds of bug bite welts. Fans, bug spray, and automatic stall sprayers did nothing. After 3 days wearing the sheet at night no more welts. I only put it on at night. When I take it off I unfassen all the buckles and velcro leaving the head piece on with the ears sticking out. then I start at her head and roll the whole thing up from head to tail. Then hang it up and at night it goes on in 15 seconds.

My horse is sensitive to bugs (flies, knats, midges, no-see-ums, etc.,) it wraps up under his belly, stays on his neck. When this sheet is not on him, he pulls at his skin trying to get the bugs. The vet says he is just sensitive, and said we could medicate him for an allergy, but he doesn't react to the bug bites, just when they are on him. So I covered him, clean up after his waste, plus feed him horse garlic and no biting himself.

Super Decke die wirklich sehr robust ist. 24 Stunden drauf im Offenstall mi 6 anderen Pferden und nicht der kleinste Riss obwohl mein Geplagter sich trotzdem weiter an den Bäumen kratzt.

This fly sheet is awesome!! My gelding is SO hard on fly sheets, but this one has lasted me now for 2 months and he hasn't ripped a single thread in it!! He has terrible sweet itch and really suffers through the late summer months, but this sheet has really helped keep the midges off! I have spent hundreds of dollars on two different Rambo sheets and countless others, and they didn't stand a chance with his itching on fence posts and whatever else he uses to scratch his itches!! Here in this Nebraska summer the heat indexes have gotten up to 115 degrees with full humidity and he hasn't broken a sweat with this sheet on! So happy with this sheet!

Fitted well except for the neck, too tight on the neck so unable to fasten whole neck section.

I love this fly sheet! I have a mare that is long bodied and has severe fly reactions. This sheet fits really well and covers her tail, belly, and neck. I've tried many different types of fly sheets over the years and finally am excited about this one. What I love about it is A) the fit, it fits her extremely well; B) the neck piece, she rubs her neck and shoulders all the time and this neck piece is attached so it doesn't come off and all the straps under her chin actually keep the neck piece in place. She has been wearing it for about a month and has yet to get the neck piece twisted or moved. And C) the material, she is out on pasture 24/7 and has yet to get one rip in it. It's a heavier mesh material but our mare seems to keep pretty cool under it. Overall, I love this product and would recommend it to anyone with a horse that needs fly protection!

I bought this sheet YEARS ago, and it was only available then in 81. My horse is a 78, so his is a tad big on him, but now I see they have a 78 (which I will get when I have the cash).... This review is for the sheet that goes over the ears. I use it mostly to keep my grey/white Paint clean! Unless he rolls in really wet mud and it goes through the material, his body stays clean. On super hot days, he's inside under a fan but on average hot days, even with Cushings (and before he gets his spring body clipping), my old man stays pretty cool in it.This sheet is also good as a liner sheet under heavier sheets and blankets in winter. Here is why 4 stars rather than 5: I had to cut off the lycra ear portion and sew it back, so it's just a neck piece. The reason is that, if your horse rubs its head and neck often, the piece over the ears can get caught and pull over the animal's eyes. I have had this happen with my horse, who is fortunately a sane animal and didn't panic, but just stood there until he was "rescued" as he couldn't see where he was going. But, some horses may panic and get hurt, so I do not like the "over the ears" part of the sheet, but if the horse is wearing a snug fly mask or halter, usually that will hold the top piece in place. The two photos were taken of my boy years ago when I first got the sheet and had not yet removed the "over-the-ears" piece.
