Why did you pick this product vs others?: This clear ice ball maker has become a favorite for entertaining. It uses IcyGem technology to form crystal-clear ice spheres, and the results are surprisingly elegant. Each cycle makes two perfectly round balls in about an hour, and the unit can make up to 40 per day. We use it when having guests over or just for a treat on hot days. It’s self-cleaning and compact enough for a countertop, with tongs included. It adds a touch of class to a glass of bourbon or tea and definitely gets comments when people see it in action.

I got this ice ball mold for my husband who enjoys drinking whiskey. We had previously been making ice balls using the traditional tray in the freezer method. But this seemed like it would be a fun addition to his bar space. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the ice. It produces it is actually crystal clear and it's not full of air bubbles like the freezer method. Ice balls were these ones are crystal clear. They are beautiful and it produces a good amount of ice balls. It seems like 2 an hour is not that much, but if you consider how many you'll use, that's actually plenty and you'll have a little stockpile of them. They look beautiful going in the glass. The machine itself is simple to use. It's very intuitive, you just fill up the thing with water and press the button and it starts. It looks nice on the countertop. It's very sleek and modern looking and it fits in nicely without being too obtrusive

I had high hopes for this clear ice ball maker, but after using it, I’m a bit underwhelmed. Yes, it does make clear, sphered ice—but it takes forever. I’m only getting a few ice balls every hour or so, which really adds up if you want to have enough ready for guests or even just daily use.The machine itself looks great on the countertop and has a sleek design, but it’s also a bit noisy. For the amount of time it takes and the electricity it uses, I honestly think you’re better off getting silicone molds and making the ice balls in the freezer. That way you can make six or eight at once without all the wait or extra energy usage. It’s a cool concept, but the execution needs improvement. Good design, but it really needs to be rethought in terms of efficiency and practicality.

This ice ball maker has completely transformed my cocktail experience, every drink now feels like it’s from a high end bar. The IcyGem Technology produces crystal-clear, dense ice balls that melt slowly, keeping my whiskey or cocktails perfectly chilled without dilution. I love that it makes two flawless spheres in just 60 minutes, and the self-cleaning feature saves me time and hassle. The included ice tong makes handling them effortless, and I can easily make up to 40 balls a day for gatherings. It’s sleek, efficient, and adds a touch of luxury to my home bar setup.

I am very impressed with this machine, but I want you to manage your expectations when purchasing. This is not a cheap unit, and you can easily find "ice makers" for considerably less money. If you are looking for clear, round, flavorless ice balls for drinks, this is it. Although it makes 2 per hour, and you can safely store 10 times that amount, they will eventually melt and look like..well..deformed ice cubes. There are some small dimples on the ones I made, but they are clear and melt very slowly in your drink. It is not noisy..You simply fill the machine, press a button, and you make ice balls. They are made to be used quickly, although you could probably store them in a freezer, but not sure if they would still be clear or not. They look great, and most importantly, do not dilute your drink. In between whiskey nights, I find that the balls made fit very well in our Stanley's, so you can always use for that, as well. Great product, instructions are clear, and very happy with this find.

This is an excellent ice ball maker, it's pretty quick, easy to setup, and easy to use and bonus - fully self contained. We let it run all day and filled up our freezer. The ice balls are hard, clear, and do not disintegrate or crack like some others. My wife thinks it could be quieter in but I think it's actually pretty quiet already. The loudest part of the entire operation is when the ice balls drop in the tray!So a couple of things to know, the ice balls have a little "nipple" on them. The more you run it continuously, the smaller these are. If you use water that is too cold or too hot, the ice balls won't be clear. The last item to note for getting crystal clear balls is that if you don't take them out of the tray, the ice balls will melt, and that cools your water reservoir, which can lead to lower quality ice balls. This isn't an issue, we hear the ice balls drop (there's pun there, I know it!) and we just put them in the freezer. You can tell by looking at our freezer picture that we learned and the ice balls got better as we went. Using filtered water makes a difference too.Side notes - you need to clean this after use with citric acid. 4 cups of water and 3 heave teaspoons of citric acid give you a nice 20/1 ratio and cleans everything no problem. I then run the clean cycle 3 more times with plain water. Works like a charm. The reservoir is easy to empty with a silicone hose that comes out back and has a pre-fitted stopper. Super simple to use.Love this thing, since it's self contained I don't need to keep in near a water source or sink, I can actually move it as needed when not in use or if we setup to entertain.
