When installed, the pump was good for the first 3 weeks. Then the car began overheating. Upon investigation, it was determined the studs for the thermostat housing backed out of the housing resulting in loss of coolant. Luckily my daughter didn't destroy her engine. Gates was contacted via the 800 number for customer help. I am still waiting for a response weeks later after leaving a message. In the meantime I used locktite to secure the studs and got her car back on the road with no signs of damage to the motor as of now. I expect better from Gates.

FIT SAME AS OEM BUT THE STUDS FOR THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING ARE TO LONG HAD TO BUY SHORTER ONE TO GET THE HOUSING TO SEAL

Purchased for a 91 Toyota MR2 2.2 engine, indicated would fit. Installed on engine direct bolt up; left thermostat housing off for bolt access. After 4 hours work tried to bolt on thermostat housing opening to small by 1/4"; this pump will only fit Camery thermostat housings. Will waste another 8 hours correcting problem. The MR2 takes a 54 mm opening. Looked like a decant part but not for MR2, free is too expensive when it is a waste of time.
