Three welds broke on the first use! Do NOT waste your money on this joke of a tool.

Garden Bulb Planter Tool, 2024 Enhanced Stainless Steel Transplanter Tool: Upgraded Serrated Digger,Claw Gardening Gloves,Reinforced Support,Sponge Grip Handle for Efficient Planting & DiggingI ordered this on August 25th, arrived on August 27th, via USPS, left at our front gate, intact and undamaged arrived with another item I had ordered. The fit and finish is just okay, teeth obviously is pointed but there are some burrs which I filed down, is stainless steel but material is a little thin so does flex, weld points could be better is tack welded at some points. I was hoping it would be sturdy enough that the teeth could cut down into the clay in our garden but the ground was too compacted so I had to use a hand weeder and rubber mallet first. I had hoped to use it to transplant seedlings without disturbing the rootball, but our ground is too hard.I have owned the same gloves that comes with this transplanter and can state as fact that you should not leave them outside exposed to the sun because they are not UV protected. I had the gloves clipped to the side of a rubbermaid shelf, outside under the eaves facing North so not even exposed to morning or direct sun. But the gloves melted together and were useless and thrown away.I feel the suggested MSRP is overpriced. My opinion is that the handle should be centered above the tool, so torque is balanced and not one sided. But if it’s being used in garden soil that is regularly tilled then it will work fine. But for our garden where I’m always digging up Surinam Cherry starter plants (not planted, grows wild from seeds left behind from the birds), the ground is compacted clay. I transplant the small Surinam Cherry plants then give them away for free. The weld points have not broken yet but the tool flex's when I apply pressure and try to cut out a starter plant. The gloves are poor quality and won’t last. I had high hopes for this transplanter, am disappointed in the quality, is also overpriced. Am giving it a 2 Star rating.

Horrible design. Doesn't work and has sharp edges all over.

This worked decently in potting soil. It did not work in my clay soil and I think it’d be challenging in sandy soil. I think this would work best to transfer plant starters, I don’t think it gets deep enough for bulbs.

This is a super useful tool to use for our vegetable garden. It cuts out a neat cylinder of dirt, much neater than if I dug it out myself. I find that this works best with garden soil that is already previously loosened, if you have hardened soil or clay, you'll want to soft it, or use after rain, to avoid breaking the tool. Claw gloves are fun to use.
