Let's start with how it arrived. The box had that paper twine tape stuff sealing the box, which had the typical clear shipping tape under it. That should have been my first clue. I ripped open the paper twine tape stuff and you could see the clear tape had previously been cut open. Then I keep digging. The red shackles were banged up pretty good with a lot of paint dings, but fine, whatever. I am installing these on a truck, so it will get banged up. Then I look at the brackets and you can see they had already been installed. Again, not a big deal.I decided to try to install them anyways. I have a 2021 Ford Ranger XLT Sport 4x4, which it says it fits, and everything looked pretty simple. I even looked over some tutorials online first, since the directions had plenty of typos on them. I love my truck, so I wanted to install them correctly. Welp, that is impossible with this item. As many have said, installing them should be just remove the old tow hook and bolt on the new, and those two bolt are fine, but what doesn't line up is the bracket for the splash skid plate. I tried everything I could think of short of drilling new holes or bending the crap out of something. The bracket is well constructed, so bending that would not only be a challenge but also would cause the nut to misalign. I also didn't want to cut or drill into the splash skid plate because I am still under warrantee. I decided after some more searching of the internet I will just order the Ford Performance tow hooks from Ford. I can order red, which is what I wanted, and it is an equal replacement part, not an attempt at upgrading a part.Fit is bad: Splash Skid Plate does not line up correctly (off by roughly 1/4"Weight: It is heavy powder coated steel, so it is durable and heavy.Build Quality: Wasn't bad either. The red shackles will chip, but the bracket itself is solid.Installation: Other than not aligning, it isn't tough to install. A note though, the wind gasket thing will not go back on with this item, if you worry about that.I have already started the return process and put all the original stuff back together.

These look awesome on my truck and not a bad price. My only complaint is that I had to do significant modifications. First off the original hooks have a piece that holds up the intercooler that I had to fabricate for these, secondly the stock skid plate had to be modified in order to be put back on. So more work than expected but love the way they look now and they are sturdy.
