These go great with my Crank Bros Mallet DH. Wouldn't recommend to weight weinies, they're pretty heavy, but save you from stumps and rocks. At $65 no way you can beat them. Very well made, and great grip even when wet. No trimming needed for crank bros either and I'm using the stainless sole protectors so I see me using them a long time. Stiff enough for pumping up long ascents yet I can walk well in them. I wear them riding street as well and my cleats don't sound like I'm tap dancing if I stop in a store for a drink. Added custom insoles for some extra comfort and better power transfer.

I normally wear a size 15, and it's nearly impossible to find cycling shoes in that size. It's especially hard to find city cycling shoes in this style in that size, so I'm really happy that a 14 fits perfectly.I haven't ridden much in them, but the build quality feels really good. They do feel slightly heavier than a traditional cycling shoe, but I like that. It gives the shoe a very comfortable and supportive feel.

I needed a shoe that would give adequate stiffness in the sole, yet be okay for walking around for 30-60 minutes during breaks. I needed a flat (not lugged) sole that would let my foot slip easily out of pedal straps. This shoe meets the requirements. It is a heavy, well-padded shoe that is sturdy and appears to be built for hard use. It is comfortable and not garish in appearance, which I consider to be a plus. If weight is not a big consideration, this might a good choice for you.

This would make a great shoe on flat pedals but the toe box is too wide for clipless pedals. Toe box hits the crank arm. I combined these with crank brothers mallet e. I had to keep the shoes and spend another 50.00 on extended spindles. This helped but did not completely eliminate the problem.

Not bad overall. Before I used only 'normal' trainers for mtb... these are an upgrade, but also have downsides. For walking around normally off the bike, I find them heavy, bulky, and the sole too 'angled' for normal walking. On the bike however, they are comfortable, durable, very cushioned. The only downside for me is that there is no sort of ankle protection (some shoes have a bit of neoprene or something). So, I got these thinking they might be the best balance for on and off the bike, but that's not the case, they are great for mountainbiking though.

These fit as expected... however I bought a them larger than i needed because i have an older pair of five tens that were a touch tight.... i still use them but I think if you are ordering.... you might want to concider ordering a 1/2 size larger than your norm..... that said, both pairs of five tens that I own are excellent.... they look amazing the are tougher than nails and I can walk around in them after the ride... I run them with Crank Brother Mallet DH.... (witch are also nice)

Five ten makes the best mountain bike shoes in the business in my opinion. This model is no exception. The fit is perfect and is slightly wide to fit most feet. The durability of the shoes is second to none. The closure system is very secure and you never have to worry about it. The grip is excellent on all surfaces even when wet. The sole is slightly rigid and works well if you're using clipless pedals. If there was one negative about the shoes it's that they are slightly heavy. But for how durable they are and how long they will last, it's well worth it. I highly recommend these shoes.

I used to have SPD-SL biking shoes, but found that I was mostly commuting and riding recreational rides with a focus on touring. The SPD-SL shoes were wonderful for being on the bike, but with all the start-stopping and walking I was doing and intending on doing, they just weren't going to cut it.I found these shoes while searching for shoes that will allow me to walk off the bike comfortably but still provide the support on the pedals for long rides.Pros:- Looks - people won't think these are biking shoes unless they are in the know.- Comfort - these shoes are pretty comfortable. I have ridden 40+ miles with no discomfort. I have walked on some trails and in stores/houses with no issue (even with the SPD hardware attached)- Durability - These are really solid shoes that are well made. No noticeable wearing so far.- SPD hardware is recessed perfectly, there is no clicking when walking on tile floors.- Warm - I rode these on a spring gravel road race when it was 37 degrees F. My feet were very comfortable.Cons:- Weight - these are HEAVY shoes. If you are a weight reduction guru, these are not the shoes for you- Looks - these are a tad clunky looking.- Sizing - I normally wear a 12 -13, and when purchasing a 12 to keep them snug, they are actually a tad bigger than I wanted. I can comfortably wear 2 pairs of socks and not have any issues.- Warm - I haven't worn these in the middle of summer yet, but I have some slight concerns over how warm they may keep my feet.Looking forward to many miles in these shoes. I recommend them for anyone who hits the offroad trails, commutes, or tours. Racers, you may want to find some lighter shoes.

Extremely comfortable for all mountain ridding works great with my crank brother candy 2. They weigh about the same as any skate shoe. The padding around the ankle is amazing. I ride to work daily and able to work all day and ride home with out ever switching out shoes. I will defiantly purchase these again or with how satisfied Iam with the shoe I would buy any of the five ten shoes with out hesitation
