I have a large lot with oaks that need trimming. I cut the limbs to firewood length, but they still need splitting. The promotional video shows the drill bit splitter working like a hot butter knife. The reality is it did not work.

I used this device after reading the instructions and watching a video. I was using a DeWalt impact drill with handle and the bit kept getting stuck. I had to use a hand hatchet to get the bit out. I tried several times but the device doesn't work as advertised.

This tool will bind in a piece of wood which will cause you to lose control of your drill. i tried this 3 times and the results were the same... the drill spun out of my hands, and the wood also spun out of control. This tool will break fingers, or cause damage to your shins or legs.Very unsafe to use... beware of the consequences.

I tried to use this splitter on dry wood with a powerful drill and it would not split anything. I do not recommend this product.

I don't know what kind of wood they are showing in the ad, but, it doesn't work on Western Red Cedar, Hemlock, Fir, Alder, Western Red Maple. With a 1/2" drill bought expressly for the purpose, with both of my wrist braces on, it still tries to break my wrists, and blocked and clamped solid, the drill finally stalls out. On attempting to back it out, the drill just unscrews the stud out of the cone - - even having secured it with a pipe wrench and red Loctite. It was unable to split anything I tried it on - - both green and dry wood.
