Good construction, materials. I needed to get through a camper's firewall and these were two of the plastic threads too short. Had to spend an hour each one to modify the opening and the bolt. Probably deserves five stars, but all that work due to length had to be acknowledged.

I need to provide pass-through DC connection in an outdoor shed with plywood siding. Drilling a hole with a hole saw is easy. The thick plastic shank and flanges will seal the hole and protect the connection inside and out. The slight issue (-.5 stars) is that the bolts are longer than necessary. Wire connections will be made with flat ring connectors. Torquing the nut down requires a deep-well socket which I happen to already own; however, this would not be necessary if the bolt were 1/4" shorter on both ends.

So far definitely work as described. Only down side is the size of the hole you have to drill but it is what it is.

They are beefier than they look in person. They use the same size holes as any other Cigarette lighter or USB PowerPoint that I've purchased in the past. You will need 4 cables to use them. Two cables that connect to the battery inside the box. And another 2 sets of cables to connect the outside receptacle to your devices. They are extremely well made. They don't feel cheap at all. You can mount them on metal or plastic. It doesn't really matter.

Great product. Made passing power through the firewall seamless. Only thing I would say that could make it better is to have a hex on both sides so you or someone else can hold it when tightening/loosening. I didn't have files or anything to make the flat tab work so I had to drill to fit so it made tightening a little difficult doing it by myself. Great product though!

Not really for your novice mechanic, but piece of cake to install. Drill, set, tighten, done. The posts are a little larger than typical, so you may need larger gauge wire terminals. You can see them in the upper left of my engine bay
