I’ve seen people say that the water boils in 1-3 minutes. That is not the case with me. Even on high, it takes me 10-12 minutes to boil the water for ramen. The lid doesn’t even fit properly, so be careful when draining the water. I don’t have a strainer and I’ve never needed to use one, I’ve always tipped the pot over and used the lid, and it worked every time. The outside is made with cheap plastic, as many others have stated. But it gets the job done.

It’s small and portable. Very easy to use and light weight. Pan is nonstick and has steamer as well.

I've been waiting for 20 minutes and the food inside is still frozen. Normally I won't use this big one. I have another smaller pot which works well. They must have given me a defective product. The first time it was very slow too I thought I put too much food. Now I'm sure it's the pot problem. Unfortunately the return window closed.

I owned one of these briefly today but have already arranged a return. Product design is OK and shape is convenient. However, it failed to boil water in 45 minutes --just simmered sub-boiling, and that makes it useless for any kind of cooking. If it won't boil water it also won't work as a quick stir fryer, and forget about steaming anything either. These Chinese-made hot pots seem to be a turkey shoot at best. I bought this to replace a different model I bought last year from another large retailer but it failed 10 1/2 months into its 1-year warranty, which turned out to be no good. The failed hot pot worked just as advertised until the power switch broke, and I was hoping for similar results with this one.I suspect mine is just a defective unit, as a good portion of reviews give it a thumbs up. but I just don't feel like playing UPS Tag returning for another unit, and maybe another, &c &c. The ones that are a little taller, not as wide, and have a goofy face with eyes and nose on the side seem to work better but watch out for the power button. Instructions for this machine are in 4 point type on a very small piece of paper. I do not recommend buying one unless you have money to throw away.
