WHAT A DEAL FOR $289....NOT SURE IF ITS WORTH $399 THOUGH........I WANTED TO GO WITH THE PERFORMER SERIES BUT HESITATED ON THE PRICE DIFFERENCE...THR DEISGN SERIES WORKS FOR MY ABILITY......JUST KEEP THE HEADS TAUNT.

Had to make minor adjustment bottom head was not seated correctly rim slightly warped but other than that once fixed this drum sounds great

Smacking doc I just wish the snare wires on get loose when I play but Ill just try to put some foam there to stop it from unscrewing

I've always played maple or metal. Wanted to try acrylic largely to test out the purported projection and crack. Wasn't disappointed. I really dig this snare. I play a lot of kick snare HH grooves outside. It certainly projects and it is not overly harsh- still get warm tones (I replaced stock head with a clear Emperor). Well made drum-DW quality/detail.
