These products are Chinese knockoffs not only that I ordered 3/8 steel to 5/16 nylon and the measurements weren't even right they were 3/7 steel to 5/15 nylon. That is not even standard measurements you can't have 3/7 and I'm sure a rather large company such as Dorman would know that 5/15 would be broken down to 1/3 especially on the packaging where it clearly says 3/7 to 5/15!! TOTAL SCAM AND RIPOFF!!!

I used this fitting along with nylon fuel line and the Dorman 800-301 to repair my OE fuel line after it started to leak. It worked very well and fit right onto my Civic's fuel pump outlet.

Better price than you can find locally if you can afford to wait on the shipping time. Good quality part. Much easier to install if you have the tool. Don’t waste your time trying to heat your nylon tube in boiling water or whatever else people recommend.

Be aware that it is not easy to get the nylon fuel line pushed up on the male end of connector. I have tried heat gun and hot water and the problem I run into is that the tube wants to bend before you can get it up on the connector. What I ended up doing is finding a screw driver I could insert into the other end of tube with enough room left to slip over connector. This gave me the leverage I needed to get it over the connector without the tube bending or collapsing. So if you need the tube to be longer I suppose you could find a similar rod to fit that didn’t have a handle. I connected the cut end of tube using a female to female quick connect to the original fuel line.

I needed to replace 26 year old fittings on my 1994 Ford Ranger and these are updated, better than OEM fittings! No leaks and very easy to install!! Use of heat gun to soften the nylon fuel line is required for barbed end per repair manual. Highly recommend!

The clips worked on my 04 RX8, I bought a new fuel pump as well and installed it. The issue I had was following the rules to heat the 5/16" fuel line to fit over the 'boot'. The instructions said to use hot water to expand the line to slip over the barbs on the clip. After a couple of hours with trying that, I removed the line completely from the tank, took it outside of the garage, used an electric Heat gun on the tube, 3 minutes later, it's on. DO NOT USE A HEAT GUN AROUND THE GAS TANK. Remove the line you are working on from the gas tank, use the heat gun OUTSIDE to 'expand' the line to fit over the barbs on the clip.

My particular application was replacing a fitting on supply line coming out of fuel sender in a 2002 Ford Ranger. The OD of the line is 0.375…and based on internet searches I could not determine if I needed a 3/8 fitting….so I asked for advice from Amazon users and I appreciate them trying to help. It certainly seemed like a 3/8 fitting was indeed intended for a 3/8 OD nylon line….but this is not the case. When I received the fitting (800-086) I could tell right away that the barb end looked too big…wasn’t going to go on the tubing.I ended up requiring a fitting designed for “5/16 tubing”. Dorman 800-091. It was a proper TIGHT fit. Some measurements for reference:The tubing on the truck is 0.375 ODOD of barb on 800-086 (3/8”) is 0.424OD of barb on 800-091 (5/16”) is 0.349Hope this helps someone else and saves them some aggravation.
