After two years of training methods I decided to try a bark color. Basically one intro beep+shock and the message was sent - neither of us want that ever again. So it’s been on vibrate (or off) and he knows what it means when he wears it. Helps my working from home, deliveries aren’t so dreaded, and guests don’t have to hear the high pitched barking anymore. He still barks without it on, and even sometimes with it on, but it’s MUCH IMPROVED since we got this and as others stated, he seems to have learned what pitch bark or growl to use so it doesn’t go off. It looks big but it’s lightweight and doesn’t bother or interfere with any of his activities.Couple minor things to be aware: it’s not 100% consistent on when it goes off meaning he could bark loudly and it doesn’t activate, it’s gone off for silly reasons (it maybe picked up another noise or barking dog) when he wasn’t doing anything wrong, and for him the vibrate means nothing as it’s the beep sound that is a trigger/reminder for him but you can’t turn off the vibrate portion.

Like many who reviewed this product, we have 2 dogs that bark at everything that moves from squirrels to delivery people. Both dogs are small, a maltese mix and a terrior mix , but the terrior is extremely loud when he barks. I couldn't leave the dogs in the backyard if adjacent neighbors were in their yards due to the non-stop barking; we have a fenced in 1/2 acre yard. I tried training them but nothing worked. I didn't want to shock the dogs using a collar but after walking them and being afraid every time we would run into anyone walking with or without dogs, I read the reviews for this collar and decided to try it for each dog. What a success. The maltese mix has her collar on the vibration mode at 2 but the terrior has his at shock level 2. We have no more ear shattering barking in the house. People have entered our home with no barking. They walk without barking, etc. They stopped barking almost immediately when wearing the collar and hearing the sound the collar makes when one of them barks. The terrior stops as soon as the sound is made as he knows a shock will follow. He ignored the vibration mode at ots highest setting so we put it on the shock mode. The collar starts operating after a few barks and makes a sound before if shocks (if using that mode). I purchased the collars about 2 & 1/2 weeks ago and charged them last night as they were on level 1. The batteries had not discharged completely but I wanted to ensure they were operable. So if you are hesitating, I recommend you try this collar. My husband and I are so pleased with them and wish we had tried them sooner. The dogs don't need to wear them now as they aren't barking constantly but I won't remove them until I'm sure they are trained.

Let me start by saying, I apologize for the length of this, but I wanted to be as detailed as possible in the way this collar has changed my life as well as the pros and cons. Please read this and bear with me before you buy to make sure it’s right for you!I actually bought two of these for my two small dogs. I have a four year old Chihuahua and an eleven month old Chiweenie. They are both trained outside to the invisible fence, which, for those who do not know, is a buried fence line that goes around my property. Each dog wears a necklace just like this, and if either dog goes over the boundary, their necklace delivers a shock. After ordering three training sessions each, and working with each dog extensively, neither of them ever “test” the fence.With that said, I was a little thrown off because of the size of my dogs (12/16 lbs) they can’t wear both collars at the same time. But when they were outside, they would bark CONSTANTLY. I tried every type of training you can think of. To put it into perspective, they bark at the neighbors dogs on both sides every time they see or hear them, every pedestrian, delivery person, the mail man, every person that comes to the house, and it was even worse if there was construction or children playing…they would bark endlessly. It even got to the point, I went and apologized to all my neighbors individually on multiple occasions. So they wear these collars without the fence collars and believe they are the fence collars. Every few times they wear the bark collars, I switch it out with the other, and we walk the perimeter. Obviously this is a risk, but it has been my solution. Now, with regard to the barking…I can’t speak for anyone who wants to use it for the vibration. I want to be clear about that. I tried it for three days with both my dogs and they were not affected AT ALL AT ANY LEVEL. I changed both to the lowest shock level, the first day, they each barked a few times, the second day one barked once and they have been quiet since. They have each mastered a very quiet bark they use to alert me when someone knocks on the door. It is simply amazing! It does emit a beeping tone before it shocks, and that stops them right in their tracks and then typically head right back to me to “let me know”. I was so desperate for a change, and now we are all so much happier as my interactions with them are a lot more enjoyable again!PROS-EVERYTHING you need is in the box!-Great Price for what you Get-You can return it if it doesn’t work for you-Vibration and Shock option-RECHARGABLE (no batteries to replace! Sure wish my invisible fence collars had this)-Comes with two different collars: all black and one that is high vis, for when you go out.CONS-Can’t fit both necklaces on small dogs-While it can also be a pro, the collar that comes is very long, as it’s meant to fit an assortment of dogs. It took a lot of time to fit the dogs, then cut and burn the collar to size.-The directions are absolutely horrid. Initially, I needed my daughter to help me, then my sister. I couldn’t figure out how to set it up on my own with the directions provided. But once it’s set up, it’s a breeze to make adjustments.
