I have replaced this switch twice an they both failed within 3 months. Please advise

The threads on the part were not the same as the factory thread in the transmission I had to go to a shop and have the part rethreaded. Then it had to be installed with a lot of Teflon tape. And my back up lights still don’t work. Your part sucks.. I know the wire feeding the switch is hot 12volts
