I have been using these rods for a couple of years now. These work great for the price.

Excellent tool for all your catfish needs. This rod is beautiful stiff and light at 36 bucks I feel as though I stole it. Get them now the price will go up on this gem.

I purchased 2 of these rods almost two years ago. These are two piece rods. The first thing I noticed when receiving them was that one of the rods had a defect. The upper piece of the rod did not slide into the lower piece completely as intended. The other rod was ok. Amazon sent me a new one free of charge and didn't even request the bad one be returned. When I received that one it had the same defect. At this point I didn't even try to get another. The rods worked well still, especially for the price, I even landed a 29 pound flathead on one. Unfortunately I had the tip snap on one of them while flipping a fish onto the bank. It may have been partially my fault but the fish was only 2-3 pounds at most. I would expect this large of a rod the be able to handle that. All in all, it is a decent pole for the price.

Let me start off by stating I am not a gear snob. That should be obvious from the recommendations that I will make towards the end of this review, but to emphasize this statement, I regularly fish with Piscifun and KastKing reels. They aren't as nice as Abu Garcias but those reels have caught me a lot of catfish. In other words, I feel that I have realistic expectations when dealing with imported fishing gear. However, these rods were subpar.Out of the box, the rods looked nice and I really wanted to like them. The handles felt great. I liked the cork accent on the butt. While the reel seats felt a bit cheap, I did not question their ability to haul in fish. What didn't feel so great about the rods was their rigidness. I have no doubt about some of the other reviewers having these snap on snags. However, it was when I put the rods together that I realized they would need to be returned. As the attached pictures show, the two piece rods are not properly seated. One fit better than the other, but neither seated properly even with exerting more pressure than similar two piece rods require. Lastly, the two guides at the end of both poles were bent.I took a bit of a gamble on these rods. There are several positive reviews. I do not doubt that some of these might be decent rods. However, it also appears that most of the recent reviews also point towards a trend of a quality control issues. This makes me think that quality control has either gone downhill or the quality control varies wildly on these rods. Given the difference in fitment and the time when I am purchased these, either might be a possibility.I have already started the return process for these and will either be replacing them with Ugly Stik Catfish Rods which are currently about $7 more a piece from a competitor or my perennial favorite, Berkeley Big Game rods which are about $10 less at the time of writing this review. I have never been disappointed with either of those manufacturer's products and I would recommend looking into those before products before settling on these.

I have nothing but positive thoughts about this rod. It's carbon so it doesn't flex much, but very strong and durable. My son reeled in a few big catfish with this rod and I'm able to make very long casts with it. I'm completely satisfied with it, and I've hade a bunch of more expensive rods that were nowhere near as nice as this one. I recommend it if your looking for something heavy duty. I have it with an Okuma Classic reel and 30lb braid and seems to be paired up nicely.

Great rod for catfish or pier fishing here in Florida. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but put a heavy Zebco spincast reel on it. Holds 20 pnd test line. Flexible enough even to cast a light 1 oz weight but has the backbone for larger as needed. I like it. Will be taking it out for some night fishing in a couple days. Full moon time, high fishing days. So it should get a workout. Going for some Reds and hope to hook into a bull red or two. Got another of these poles coming today so will have a matched pair. Both with Zebco spincasters.
