I think this is a clever idea. It combines a cardboard cat scratcher with a cat bed that cats can actually sleep in. So far mine have not slept in it but they do jump in and our of it and scratch it while inside. As usual, a couple of my cats are kind of hesitant to engage, but the more adventurous jump right in and start scratching. It appears to be good quality cardboard and I think it will hold up for a while. They have not managed to make any large tears in it yet. It is sturdy and it does not wobble when they jump in and out. It smells like regular cardboard and it does not have a bad odor which is also good. I think it is a good value at the listed price and if my cats like it, I do also.

I barely had the scratcher out of the box when my cat launched herself into it. I didn’t even get a chance to properly place it before she jumped right in, started scratching, and then immediately curled up inside. New lounging spot! The scratcher itself is really well made. The cardboard feels sturdy and holds up to her scratching. The bowl shape is super comfy and clearly designed with cats in mind. My cat is using it both a scratcher and a bed.I also love that it can be reversible. Once the bed side gets worn out, I will just flip it over and she will get a fresh scratcher to go at. That gives it way more life than a typical flat scratcher. It even came with some catnip, but honestly she didn’t even need it. If your cat loves to scratch and lounge, this thing is absolutely worth it!UPDATE: I had to provide an update because this cat bed/scratcher/salad bowl for cats, whatever you want to call it, is just amazing. Check out my latest photo! My kitty is completely obsessed. I’ve moved it to different spots around the house, and she always finds it and curls right up inside. She’s 10.6 pounds, complete with a glorious primordial pouch, and somehow manages to tuck all her catmanity (like humanity!) into this bowl. Whoever designed this definitely knows cats. She absolutely loves it.

Many years back I had a well constructed, sturdy scratcher that was a long, raised rectangular shape that was concave on one of the sides and it could be reversed and used to scratch on both sides. I had it several years until its was too worn down to keep. I’ve had no luck finding something similar that my kitties take to and enjoy as much as they did that one. Until now!😻😻I had just brought to my cabin a few pieces of furniture out of my storage unit the night before this arrived. I opened it and set it on a small side table sitting at the end of the kitchen island where the kitties hand out. One of them had already jumped up to observe what I was up to and was sniffing around. Even though it was sealed, I think she may have smelled the catnip that came in the tiny packet. There was no need to sprinkle any onto the scratcher, she climbed onto it, gave it a few scratches then lay down for a rest while she continued to watch me. Later on my 18.13lb big guy jumped up onto the stool, reached over and started scratching at it! Eventually he climbed over and sat on it. They’ve been at it frequently over the past handful of days. I haven’t decided where I’m putting the small long table yet so it hasn’t been moved and neither has the scratcher! I kind of like having it where it is, they spend less time on the cloth covered stools leaving their long cat hair behind😹This is large enough to allow a huge cat to relax in, my close to 19 lb Siberian fits comfortably. The quality of the cardboard bee waffle weave is top notch. My big guy doesn’t allow me to trim his nails often enough so then tend to stay long and sharp. I’ve seen him destroy other cardboard scratchers in a weeks time. This one is holding up really well so far👍👍 It has a decent weight to it so it’s not tipping over at all and the glossy paper design that is wrapped around the outer edge is glued down securely. I think this is a great product and I highly recommend it. I would buy this several times over! We love it😻😻👍👍

We have several young-to-old rescue cats and will soon be getting a kitten, so I've really been on the lookout for interesting cat toys and furniture, so felt like this was worth checking out.I kind of want to rate this lower. It is, after all, just some cardboard strips glued together to make what is in this case an oval cat bed / scratcher. One could fairly easily take just about any cardboard box -- including the one it was shipped in -- and make almost exactly the same thing with some glue and some some time. But, I have to give this one credit, in that they haven't tried to put a fancy wood-inspired paper cover on it and pass it off as something that it's not. The pictures and description make it pretty clear what you're ordering, and that's exactly what you get. I think most cats will like it as-is, though some might need some catnip-based inspiration to really check it out. My cats are kind of mixed on it. They might settle in it if passing by, but none really seem to seek it out over other options -- oddly, including at least one other cardboard bowl that they all seem to like for some reason.I my mind, the question really comes down to how much you're willing to pay for cardboard in a specific configuration. If you have plenty of money and not a lot of time, then maybe $25.00+ for a cardboard bowl is worth it. If money is tight but you have time to spare, you can do just as good with some boxes, white glue, and maybe an hour of your time. If money and time is tight, well, I feel you, and maybe it's okay just to put an empty box on the floor and call it a day. This is and does right what it says on the label, and for that I'll give them credit. But I'm becoming less convinced over time of the value of relatively expensive cardboard constructs for cats.
