I didn't realize that this film was sticky on both sides, but that's on me since I didn't read the description well enough. It was hard to get the outer film off to apply this item.On the upside, it did come in multiple sheets/size and you can cut to fit and it did stop my cat from scratching on my couch

These are easy to install and so far have worked from what I can see! Would buy again if needed. I think I may add one to the outside of my bedroom door so my cats stop scratching at that first thing in the morning begging for food lol!

Whether these really work or not, depends on the cat. One cat won't touch this sticky stuff. The other cat doesn't care, digs her claws in, and just rips it off like it wasn't there. My problem with the product is that the one side of the protective film comes off easy. Peel and stick. The other side, well let's just say it is a LOT tougher to get off. If there was just a little tab you could get a hold of! But no, no such luck.

I have three cats, and a new sofa. That makes products like these a must have! I've never used anything like it, so it was a bit of a learning curve just because rarely is furniture perfectly square and completely flat. I should have started in the least visible place and worked by way to the most visible, but I didn't so that is that. By the time I really hit my stride with it, I was doing the back side of the couch lolWhat I really liked about these is that you aren't also trying to fight with the fact that it's been tightly rolled up for ages. A lot of times products meant for this come on a roll, and then you are working with something sticky that wants to just roll back up into itself. But since these come as precut sheets, it was so much easier to work with. I just sort of puzzle pieced together the areas of the sofa that my cats can reach. It's so much easier to cut something that is already flat than something that wants to roll up tight like a roller shade. The sofa I did with this product definitely looks better and has held up better than the loveseat I did with a different kind on a roll. If I had to choose between the two, I'd pick these for the ease of use. Unfortunately my sofa has some rounded areas, so the tape hasn't stuck so well there. I'm sure there are ways to sort of force it to stay on rounded/curved/crowned things, probably by "pintucking" it almost? There's probably a way, I'm just not crafty enough to figure it out. Maybe some strategic cuts would allow it to bond well to a rounded shape. But on the flat sides and back? That tape looks as good 5 months later as it did on day 1.I've had my new sofa for about 5 months, and all the areas with the tape on it are completely scratch-free, so it does do the job! You just might find that there are only certain spaces on your sofa it'll adhere to, but you should be able to do up the sides and the back of your sofa no problem. Might just have difficulty with the arm rests if they are "puffy" and not perfectly square. The tape doesn't do corners well. To try an arm rest, I cut one of these down into like 10 thin strips that I placed side by side, that way if someone rests their elbow on the armrest, the pressure isn't pulling the tape up at the other end, if that makes sense.Likes: precut, flat (not rolled), backing comes off easy enough, has stayed stuck to my sofa for 5 months without peeling off on the areas it adhered well to.Dislikes: not really the product's fault necessarily, but only works really well on really flat areas. Think sides/back of your sofa, not the arm rests or cushions, it doesn't stick well to curved areas. It would be really cool if they could figure out a way to make this stuff just a little stretchy almost? That way you could use it on areas that move/stretch without it ripping the tape off.I'd take a pic of it on my couch, but it's dim in my living room today and it'll be invisible on my black sofas!

Thankfully my cats don't really scratch the furniture (they know to use the scratching posts I have in various places for them) but every now and then they like to grab onto unexpected structures when they stretch. I decided to get these sheets as a preventative measure and they're doing the trick in the sense that my cats don't seem to want anything to do with them. They're slightly difficult to peel but not really any more so than I would expect from any similar product. They stuck onto my couch very easily but it should be noted that my couch is "smooth", not fuzzy. They do stand out when stuck, making the couch look different, but that is again to be expected, it's the tradeoff for protecting the material. As mentioned, my cats don't scratch the couch to begin with, but I tested these sheets by gently taking the cat's paw and touching it to one after it was placed. She seemed confused by it, sniffed it, and pulled back in apparent repulsion. I also noticed her looking back at it with suspicion the next time she walked past.If you're okay with your couch looking a little different, and can expect that the sheet is sticky enough to get some dust and fuzz on it over time, then this is a good solution to keeping your cat from wanting anything to do with it. Every cat is different but mine didn't want to touch these.

Go our and buy you some two sided tape this what this product is, it does work but why spend the extra money for just the name of the merchandise? Literally go out and buy you some two sided tape. It does look a bit tacky. People come in and see this on my couch qjd they ask if I have a hole in my couch I'm trying to keep from getting bigger.

The Cat Scratch Furniture Protector tape does a decent job of sticking to walls, but unfortunately, it doesn’t adhere well to furniture. While it does deter my cat from scratching the areas where it's applied, my cat quickly found new spots to target. It’s not the best solution for keeping my furniture safe, but it does help a bit with walls. I’d recommend it if you have wall-related scratching issues, but for furniture, it’s hit or miss.
