This is such a cool cake band mold kit. I love how easy it it to change size. It works great and provides a perfect way to create an icebox cake in a mold. The cake collar is helpful and keeps the cake together after it sets. I love this thoughtful addition.

This is a good ring mold set, its made from stainless steel so its solid construction.I like that its adjustable from 6" to 12" inches and every size in between. Its a little tricky to use if you have never used one of these forms, there is no bottom so if you are using a runny liquid then you would need to line the bottom with parchment paper, which is a good idea no matter what your are making.A spring form pan at the exact size would be easier to use.The plastic collar material is important to use, it will unmold much easier and result in cleaner sides but if you need to bake this then the plastic will melt soAll in all, this a great ring mold for any baker, its always good to have one of these in your pantry.

To make a clean cake, you will want to use this plastic. Surround your cake with this plastic. Put the cake ring around the plastic. Then put the cake in the plastic ring and add your frosting. After you have added all the layers of cake and frosting, leave the plastic and ring on in the fridge. When you are ready to serve, take off the ring and plastic and your edges will be perfect on your cake. You then have a perfect naked cake.

This cake ring mold set is easily adjustable, although it’s a bit tricky to lock the size. It was also difficult to seal the bottom and I had to cut out parchment paper and sealed the side using a bit of vegetable oil. This cake ring isn’t the easiest to use if you are a beginner and I noticed that the ring wasn’t fully smooth on the inside, giving a slight ledge to a portion of the final cake. Overall build quality of ring is fair, but for poor ease of use for beginners and the shape of the final cake, this cake ring does work, but there’s a learning curve to using it properly. If you are new to baking, I recommend using a springform pan before attempting anything with these baseless ring molds.
