I bought this in order to install a headset in a new frame. I ride a 58cm frame, and this press simply couldn't handle the length of my head tube. I'll see if I can find a longer M16 rod at the hardware store, but as sold this press is worthless to me - I even stripped the threads trying to use it as I couldn't get enough of the top/bottom parts of the press screwed onto the threaded rod before the pressure blew out the threads. It's probably fine for shorter riders, but if you ride 58cm frames or larger, this isn't the press you want to buy.

I was going to try to set my new bottom and top brackets by hand, hammer, and clamps. glad i did not. The press setting tool worked great. my only issue was the tool is just barely wide enough to fit a 40 mm bracket, and I was concerned it might distort the bracket. Fortunately, it did not impact the bracket, and everything went smoothly.

Purchased this to install a new PF BB into a carbon MTB. Overall, a quality well-machined aluminum press. Worked perfectly to install my Raceface PF92 BB. Only thing I had to do was lube the shaft threads a bit to make for a smoother operation.

I used this tool to replace my first press-fit bottom bracket and did not want to spend a large amount of money on the tool. In the meantime, I have come to appreciate this tool. I used it for several bottom brackets and headsets of different type and the tool always worked great is sturdy and multiuse. This is a great value.

The manufacturer could encorporate a thrust bearing to ease operation.

Steel threaded rod. Aluminum adjustment handle with sloppy or worn out threading. Sharp steel threads up against sloppy aluminum threads. Steel wins every time.

For any Sur Ron (electric bike) riders out there, this thing worked perfectly for installing the Cane Creek headset bearings. If you're installing something like a Fox 40 (fork) on your Sur Ron, you have to also install the cane creek headset bearing kit (since the stock bearings are way too tall). And to do that you basically have to have this tool.At first I looked into just making my own with nuts, bolts and washers from the hardware store but 1. that requires you to have 2 large wrenches and you can get pretty awkward angles for wrenches around the headset and 2. That was actually going to cost as much as this tool - which already has a nice handle. Of course the bottom doesn't have a handle so you still need 1 wrench but at least you can just hold that wrench still while you spin the top down tight. All of that being said... I do wish this kit came with a second handle nut (like the one on the top) so that you wouldn't have to use a wrench on the bottom. Would just make things a bit easier. That's how the park tool does it (but theirs is way over-priced of course).Anyway, very happy with this. Worth it.

Well machined product and priced right for the amount of use it will get.I am probably an above average user swapping brackets and headsets frequently but not daily It’s good quality so expect it to outlast me.
