Approx. 60 - 65 Days Kai Lan, Gai Lan (Chinese Broccoli, Chinese Kale) is one of the most popular green vegetables in Chinese cuisine. Large tender leaves with short, thick, crisp stems. Soil: well-drained Sow seeds in sunny location year round for larger leaves and thicker stems. Harvest main stalk when 2-3 flowers are open. Culinary tips: Stir-fry stalks, leaves and buds with garlic, a little sugar and some rice wine or boil and dress with oyster sauce. Can be cooked similarly like Choy Sum

The pack said “big pack”. It seemed to be about the same size as most other seed packs I’ve purchased but the price was about double.

All of these Chinese broccoli seeds sprouted along with my other seeds. Good seeds, can't wait to see if they look like supermarket quality produce.

I was very excited to get these seeds, as I just discovered this yummy veggie. The seeds look proper, but there is only 1/2 the amount...yes I did indeed count them as it was obviously not 1500 seeds and I paid extra for that amount. Now I have to return them just to get the right thing instead of them just sending me more seeds or refunding me 1/2 my money. Now I have to wait for more seeds and go to the trouble of returning them.

Of these seeds, every single one that I placed into the ground grew, that was impressive, as I wasn't expecting it.The plants taste how I expected, but the skin was quite thick compared to what I get from the store, and is so thick that you can poke yourself on skin shards in your mouth after cooking it.Good seeds though!

Planted this as a container crop in early spring, before my tomatoes would get planted in them. It was easy to grow, and was finished by May in time for the tomatoes. The stalks were like broccoli, and the leaves were like a tangy green, that we both sautéed and ate in salads.

The amount of seeds I received from this company is awesome! Chinese vegetables are a treat in our house hold and bring a new fresh flavor to our foodie family! But seriously, Fred Meyer and Alberstons wants to charge 10$ a bunch for this beauty...no way! I purchased a ton of seed and will now grow it organic fresh at home in my green house!
