This drone has an appealing design and was simple to set up out of the box. It uses 3 AAA batteries for the remote and comes with two rechargeable batteries for the drone itself. While the controller interface was initially a bit confusing, the included instructions were clear enough to get us going fairly quickly.Unfortunately, the drone’s biggest selling point, its supposed durability, didn’t hold up in practice. It claims to be made with “quality ABS material to withstand countless crashes or drops,” which gave us confidence that it would be suitable for a beginner. However, within just five minutes of gentle flying, my 10-year-old son accidentally guided it into a bush. It wasn’t a crash from height or at high speed; the drone was already descending. Still, a propeller popped off, and after reattaching it, the drone would no longer achieve lift on one side. The motor spun, but the imbalance rendered it grounded for good.For a device aimed at beginners or kids, that kind of fragility is a major flaw. If the drone hadn’t made bold claims about durability, we might have chalked it up to a learning curve. But in this case, the performance didn’t match the promise.This drone might be a decent entry-level option if you have a wide, unobstructed area to fly in and plan to use it gently. But if you’re buying it with the expectation that it will survive beginner bumps or “countless” crashes, our experience suggests otherwise.

Bezgar specializes in R/C vehicles. This mini drone is a new addition to their lineup.Although the print is small, the instructions were clear enough I could get this running. I've no previous experience with drones. Comes with 2 batteries for the drone but needs 3 AAA batteries for the controller.The drone is quite small, approx. 5" square, thus putting it into the toy category. It is finished with a Spiderman theme. It has subdued flashing lights.Once drone & controller were powered, they synced immediately. There are several buttons on the control. One of them starts the drone and raises it to about 5 feet above the ground. From this position, one can fly the drone, using the joysticks. That same button, when pressed again, will gently land the drone, should one have trouble steering the drone. It was easy to fly, for a first time.One drawback is flight time. The sale page states 12 minutes using both batteries. The instruction sheet states it's about 60 minutes to charge a battery. Ergo 120 minutes charge time for two 6 minutes flights. (can only hold 1 battery at a time)I checked flight time on a very similar product but different manufacturer. It claimed 7 minutes per charge so 6 minutes doesn't seem out of place for the type of toy it is.I'm unsure about durability. It seems sturdy enough, for a toy. It uses object avoidance if traveling slow enough. But, would it survive if accidentally flown into something solid at full speed? Maybe, ABS plastic is a tough polymer plastic.As I stated previously, I am unfamiliar with drones as a hobby. $40 retail seems high for the size of this unit. But, it is in line with competitors. It does incorporate some useful features and perhaps they warrant a higher retail. I think it should come with 3 batteries.It's a nifty little toy, but an expensive stocking stuffer for a 10 to 1 charge time to play time ratio.

We had so much fun playing with this little drone with our 7 year old grandson! The instructions included were easy to follow, and since the box said it's for ages 14+, we made sure to supervise him while he played with it.With a little bit of practice, he was able to control it by himself, we all had a great time!I wish I'd taken videos. I may add them to this review later, but wanted potential buyers to know that it was fun for all and easy to use. The drone is a little smaller in person than it seemed on online, but that only made it easier to fly around in areas with smaller clearance (between our house and the neighbors, for instance).For younger children, I'd recommend supervising their use, but older kids (over 12) would likely be able to fly it on their own. Our 10 year old granddaughter loved it, as well! We're going to order another one so they can both fly their own without having to wait turns. This would make a great birthday gift!

This mini drone is super easy to fly, even beginners can pick it up fast. The auto-hover and obstacle avoidance are great for younger kids, and the 360° flips are a hit. The LED lights make it fun to fly indoors or at night. It’s small, lightweight, and durable enough to survive a few crashes. With 3 speed modes and headless mode, it keeps kids entertained without being frustrating.
