INPUT GECKO 360° PERFORMANCE: Three modes of voice tracking: Communication is not static, rather often also variable and dynamic. That’s why we developed and integrated GECKO technology, which is fully focused on the type of communication. The GECKO function supports specific spatial requirements.
GECKO FIX MODE: For a presentation targeted at one speaker, GECKO FIX mode is ideal. That’s because the voice recording focuses precisely on this fixed location. The advantage of this is that noises or what is spoken by all other people in the room is not recorded by the microphone. All listeners can therefore follow the presentation in quiet comfort.
GECKO FOLLOW MODE: Where communication is directed at people who move about the room freely during the meeting or where only one person is ever to have the floor, then GECKO FOLLOW is the right mode. That’s because the microphones conveniently follow the people in the room in this mode.
GECKO 360° MODE: Where people are gathered around a table at a meeting and communicate with one another, then GECKO 360° mode is the right choice. What is spoken by all participators in the communication is recorded in this mode.

I've had this about a year and it has worked faultlessly - never any issues with the microphone volume or audio quality. I am using it in a home office environment and I tried numerous other microphone options, Rode Lavalier, big desktop mics, cheap speakerphones, and the Beyerdynamic is the best by far if you don't want to be wearing headphones. I only use it in wired mode so can't attest to the Bluetooth quality or battery life. Sound quality is good, comes with a very nice travel case and feels sturdy and well built. Recommended!

Good sized unit coming with a very nice carry pack. A good amount of bass and couldn't immediately see the difference transitioning from my laptop speakerphone to phonum.Connecting currently via Bluetooth and I am noticing that the battery life depletes fast within a work day itself. I also ensure that the unit is powered down when I don't have any conference calls going on.The product description mentioned that a USB-C to USB-A cable would be included BUT I didn't find one in my package. So kind of disappointed that they couldn't fulfill the order as mentioned on the site.

Worked great for a week or two and then suddenly switched to act as if it was only a speaker and not a speaker/mic. I tried everything the manual and their website said and called their number and got a number to call and left a message that was never returned. Reset the device multiple times and tried connecting it different ways. Nothing worked. Too bad because I really liked it before this. I am throwing this piece of junk away and buying a Jabra.

Below was my first review when i first bough it but after the latest firmware upgrade it is working far better with Microsoft Teams than before and the integration is active. now I give it 5 stars.——The Sound and MIC quality for "voice calls" is super BUT.. it is not good for Music at all and this is not all... the sync of volume level between this unit and windows is missing; I mean you increase the volume on the unit without any impact on the volume level on MS teams for example which I am using heavily each and every day!! There is no indicator of the volume level on the unit!!, No indicator of battery level (good luck!). Mute Button has some delay, you press and nothing change then it goes to mute (very few times but happened), NO USB dongle! , connecting via Bluetooth give 0% control over windows and MS teams volume or MIC levels. The USB cable position is weird, it is 1cm off the enter of the unit (under the phonum name) as the power bottom is on the other 1cm to the left so the cable seems to look unaligned, all in all as i Said the unit voice and MIC quality is SUPER but who designed and developed it have a very low taste in what he did. I upgraded to latest firmware version but did not help to fix the windows volume sync and now sent an email to their support waiting for an expected answer : (this is it)!

Ja, das Ding ist für ein Tischmikrophon recht teuer. Aber es funktioniert hervorragend. Wir nutzen es an einem Tisch für 16 Personen. Das geht, wenn man sich beim Sprechen konzentriert. Die Mikrofone richten sich auf die jeweilige Sprachquelle aus, leicht zu sehen an der Beleuchtung auf der Oberfläche, die dann in die Richtung weist.Der Lautsprecher ist sehr leistungsfähig und kann den Raum problemlos beschallen. Die Klangqualität ist ebenfalls sehr gut. Etwas Vorsicht ist bei der Empfindlichkeit der Mikrofone geboten. Man sollte halt, wie bei allen Tischmikrofonen, in der direkten Nähe nicht mit Papier rascheln oder Tassen klappern.Der Anschluss über USB funktioniert tadellos. Auch über Bluetooth gab es keine Probleme. Die jeweiligen Videokonferenzsysteme (Skype, Skype for Business, Teams oder GoToMeeting) erkennen das Gerät problemlos.Unser Chef liebt das Gerät und hat sein Headset jetzt dagegen eingetauscht. So kann er frei sprechen.

Build and sound quality is above average but lacks feature to disable the voice prompt when powering up the product. It is somewhat annoying that when I powerup the device in front of meeting attendees, it announces the battery level and in addition to that it it will be loud at first then lower to the volume level it is normally set while in the middle of prompt. Probably the programmer of this device did not do a trial run when they ran the software to the product or it is always at maximum volume that they did not notice the change.The case fit is not the great. It can accidentally power-up the device and drain the battery. There should be some protection element around power button with the case they designed.

I rarely write reviews, but this speaker is so good, I want everyone to have one of these things. My tech friend has one and kept going on and on. It arrived in the mail, I opened the box, dreading the “hook up” process. First win: so easy, it took like two seconds. Accessed my phone through the Bluetooth menu and boom. The sound is so clear. Great range, super clear, capable of playing loud. AND it’s a speakerphone for conference calls. When a call comes in, you have the option to answer it on the Phonum or not. So easy. Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed. I love intuitive, multitasking, high functioning tools.

While there are less expensive options, the Phonum product is superior in a number of ways. As someone who works remotely and has calls that are based by phone, webex, skype and zoom it is essential to have a steady speaker. Not only do my clients and colleagues confirm the sound quality but it adapts to all noted programs. That leads to the setup which is painless - as in plug and play. Furthermore I can take to a cafe and have a conference call where a colleague or 2 are joining me in person and the other line can pick up the difference in speakers clearly. Have had this product for a week but has made big difference in efficiency.

Das Phonum wurde in erster Linie zum Telefonieren angeschafft. Unser Kind möchte den ganzen Tag getragen werden, das macht Telefonieren mit einer Hand am Ohr unmöglich. Daher sind wir auf der Suche nach einer Alternative auf das Phonum gestoßen.Das Setup via Bluetooth ist sehr einfach und rasch durchgeführt. Zum Telefonieren funktioniert das Gerät einwandfrei: Die Sprachwiedergabe ist laut und klar, fast besser als wenn man das Telefon direkt am Ohr hat. Durch die Richtmikrofon-Funktion, die einen beim Telefonieren durch den Raum verfolgt, kann man sich beim Telefonieren überall im Raum frei bewegen (und zum Beispiel das Kind tragen) und wird überall verstanden, auch bei mehreren Metern Abstand. Das Gerät steht in unserem Wohnzimmer, mit 30 Quadratmeter der größte Raum der Wohnng.Besonders praktisch finde ich, dass beim Einschalten der Akku-Stand durchgesagt wird - so wird man nicht mitten im Gespräch vom leeren Akku überrascht und kann rechtzeitig aufladen.Als Hintergedanken hatte ich noch, das Phonum auch als Lautsprecher für Musik und Filme zu nutzen. Im Vergleich zu unserem Entertainment-Lautsprecher kommen die Bässe und tiefen Töne jedoch weniger voll, sodass das Klangerlebnis mit einem reinen Lautsprecher besser ist (ich habe hier aber persönlich hohe Ansprüche).Fazit: Das Phonum erfüllt meine Erwartungen vollends. Es ist ideal für das freie Telefonieren bei bester Sprachqualität. Das Mikrofon funktioniert auch in größeren Räumen tadellos. Der Sound bei Musik und Filmen ist auf jeden Fall gut und absolut ausreichend.

I hate using my cell phone all of the time—especially at home. It’s inconvenient to hold it during a conversation and even on speaker it’s limiting.The Phonum is an awesome solution—I can work on the computer, lay in bed, sit on the couch, etc. and have a hands-free and audible conversation. If I move around the speaker “follows” me and I am able to continue my conversation without interruption.There are a few setting different settings which is nice if you don’t want to pick up background noise during your conversation.It is also great for streaming music. At night I have been using it with meditation apps and audio books.Easy to use and set up.Great investment.

I bought this speaker as a portable conference phone that I could take to various meetings for work or non-profit volunteering. It worked very well in the several different environments I’ve tried it in. It connects to my cell phone easily, and has no problems lasting for a nearly three hour meeting. The participants sounded clear and could hear our large group that was there in person easily. Bluetooth connection was easy with no issues - I also used it with the Zoom app on my phone so multiple participants could call in. Really satisfied with this powerful little conference phone.

I don't leave comments to often, I travel alot work. So I'm usually pretty short on patience when I'm waiting for a conference room to open up. Or sitting in my hotel room with earbuds in. So I went with the Phonum to give it a try on my last trip to a conference. At first I have to say the look and feel of the build on this thing feels amazing. It feels really durable, and the case that comes along with it has this soft to the touch feel but very rigid. I was especially excited to know that it came with a carrying case! So the sound is noticeably different on my conference calls. Alot of my coworkers and clients have noticed that the quality of my calls have significantly improved and have actually said did you get a new phone. I love the 360 option. I tend to pace around the room a lot when I talk and I can see the Phonum mics following my voice with the soft light notification on the top. I must admit it's pretty cool. 12 Hours of battery life is perfect. I haven't had to recharge it ever during my daily on grind of calls. Also since it is a bluetooth speaker I can actually listen to music and then jump onto a call with-out switching anything! I'm currently on site at a clients office right now. In a small office and I'm really glad I brought my Phonum. No need take up precious conference room space. So in short I'm glad that I went with this product! I wanted to comment on something negative about this product but I really couldn't find one thing. Great noise cancellation, awesome speaker, and mic's. I would buy this again for sure.
