These headphones received a lot of well-deserved praise, and I can only confirm that the M50x is a great buy! They are comfortable, stylish, and sound great for the price range and the intended purpose. To clarify, what I mean is for a pair of low impedance closed-back headphones that could be driven by an iPhone the Audio-Technica M50s are probably as good as it gets.Sound:These are supposed to be flat monitor phones without any emphasis on any part of the frequency spectrum. To my ear, the M50s favor the lows just a tad and create a pretty warm sound signature that I personally really like. Are the M50's as analytical as some the Sennheisers? Probably not. But that's OK, because they are not meant to be. At the same time, are they as ridiculously bass heavy as the Beats or V-Moda? No. They are exactly where they are supposed to be and provide a perfect sound for their target audience of on the go non-audiophiles who care about the sound more than flashy brands. Having said all that, when I listen to these with my Fiio X1 FLAC player, I do adjust the equalizer to bring up the mids a little bit. These are closed-back headphones, so some people may find the sound a bit muffled compared to open-back headphones, but that's the nature of the beast.Build Quality:These things are solid. They don't use metal like the new Sennheiser Urbanites, but the plastic is very high quality, and despite all the hinges and movement, the M50s never feel flimsy. The padding is soft and comfortable and the band is very flexible, but at the same time tight enough to provide a great seal.Usability:Here is where the M50s really shine. These headphones are designed to be used on the go. They are one of the few foldable over-the-ear headphones. They also work with low power output devices such as smartphones and mp3 players. The interchangeable cable system is awesome, since it allows for easier storage as well as usage optionality. Finally, the sound and the potential of these headphones allows one to listen to low quality mp3s on your iPhone streaming app as well as high fidelity FLACs through an amp at home, and find both experiences enjoyable. M50s make your crappy files sound great and allow high quality audio to truly shine. Very few products can do that.

I am in loooove with these!!! I already owned headphones in the 100-130$ price range... these are worth every buck, the bass is powerful, the trebles are clear, all in all the sound is very detailed compared to other headphones I've had. You don't feel at all that the sound is all coming to you on an equal level, you feel every layer of sound coming at you in different ways... Very happy with this purchase, the headset is comfortable and the materials seem to be of very good quality. Flexible leather, plastic that didn't scratch yet even if I knocked them against the wall by incident. The fact that you can change the wire is a big plus too as this is the first part to break in most headphones. The only negative I can think of is if you have a really big head these might feel a little tight for you. I got the blue and copper, love them!!! My sister has the white ones and her boyfriend has the black ones. They all look very nice to me but the colors on the limited edition one is something I've never seen before, I definitely think you should get these ones!

To begin with, I wish to say that these are my first set of 'studio-grade' headphones and so my opinion may be slightly biased as I have no comparison. Anyway, let's get into it:The first thing you notice as soon as you open the box is the quality of the build and colour scheme that is used. The dark blue and off-beige make for a very appealing contemporary look and this was one of the reasons I chose them over the standard black option. As you pick them up out of the box, you notice the build quality that these have. They have a very sturdy feel about them but they are all plastic which was a little bit dissappinting. I think they may, if you taken care of, break sooner than one would expect due to an all plastic design.Sound quality is where these really shine (so there's a lot to say). The way the drivers handle the range of sound is incredible. The frequency response (15Hz - 28,000Hz I believe) allows you to hear every instrument present in the song with impeccable detail. Even if you just use the basic eq on your chosen device (I was doing this for a while before I found the god that is customised eq settings) they sound amazing. Changing the levels of each frequency and these headphones move into a league of their own. Moving from a Logitech Headset that I bought around 4 years ago to these was like night and day. A quick touch on the volume of these cans; due to their impedence (38 ohms) whilst you will be able to use these with a phone or MP3 player, the volume will be reduced. For complete listening I recommend investing in a small amplifier to boost the signal. They don't even cost that much nowadays either. Its a WIN-WIN!Finally the user and surrounding comfort. The first thing that I want to say for this is that the M50X's are NOT noise cancelling headphones. While they will block out some ambient noise and so voices will be reduced to a muffle, you will still be able to hear them without the volume up to a decent level. The headphones do grip onto your head quite tightly when you first put them on so I would suggest wearing them for a decent amount of times in order to wear them in and mould them to your head. The padding around the cups and headband are very soft but they aren't leather. I'm not completely sure the material they use but it is very comfortable. They do leak some sound to the surroundings but you would have to crank the volume up pretty high to produce any annoying leak.In conclusion, I was very impressed (and continue to be) from the very start with these headphones. They were a great quality buy and I would recommend to anyone looking to invest in a good pair. At the time of writing they are only about £120 which is a great saving from the nearly £200 that they RRP at. I chose these over the Sennheiser Momentum because of that saving and have never looked back.9.5 / 10; would definitely buy again.

Where do I start? From the moment I unboxed these beauties (the packaging is designed very well!), I knew it was going to be a fantastic relationship. Audio-Technica has outdone the competition. The M50s are stunning in every aspect, from sound quality to design, and I'm in love. Admittedly, I'm a bass junkie after having had some experience DJ'ing and producing, but aside from the heavy bass I personally desire, I seriously cannot find one problem with them.I'm just going to describe the greatness of every category, but it goes without saying that the M50s score a 10/10 in each section.Build - While I may not have had these very long, they seem even stronger than the ATH-ANC7s that these are replacing (my ANC7s lasted about 6 years). I've dropped these a few times onto carpeted floor on purpose and they aren't even phased. The leather is soft and the hard plastic designed to hold together. If I could complain, it's that the adjuster/band part that leads to the top leather area could definitely be made out of metal, as that's the part that usually breaks with over-ear headphones.Comfort - These headphones are a dream to wear. I've had softer ones on before, but these are pretty damn good, and I like that the cushion is the same oval shape of ears, which is something that a lot of manufacturers can't seem to understand. I used these on a long flight and experienced no discomfort whatsoever.Design - They look good, but they don't stop there. The ear pieces twist and flip in several ways that I fail to describe without proper examination, but I like that they fold up nicely for travel (and they fit like this in the nice leather travel pouch that you get).I definitely recommend the 'blue' version, as the brown sticks out nicely without saying "hay look at me i hav expensiv hedphonezz!!1" ...like every person that buys Beats...but that's another story. The new logo on the sides is slick and I'm a fan.Sound Quality - Mids and highs are crisp and full. Some headphones lack that warmth that these have. Listening to any good metal riff I could hear the warmth of the mids surround me nicely. Like I said before, the bass is not that impressive. It's good enough for studio quality, and everyday listening, but if you're used to heavy bass then this might not be the pair for you. It wasn't such a big deal that I would remove a star from my rating, but more of a personal preference. And as a final note, the cables that are provided are excellent. I normally use the coiled cable, which is very long when it stretches, allowing me to move about the room actually without removing the headphones. Kudos to Audio-Technica for making the cable removable (THANK YOU!) because I've had too many cables go bad on headphones and then end up trashing the whole pair after frustrating repair attempts. For the price, you simply cannot get a better pair of over-ear headphones. Stop wasting time and buy these already. I sprung for the Blue edition because I wanted the warm brown color that sticks out, but the white and black versions are just as great.tenouttaten.

Umstieg von einem Sennheiser HD555 zum Audiotechnica. Tolles Klangbild, hoher Tragekomfort. Für mich perfekt. Angenehmes Preisniveau und in der Limited Edition auch ein Hingucker!
