I wouldn't say it's the greatest quality, but it suffices; and for the price you can't complain.I like that the part is tiltable/adjustable when installing; because the original part wasn't.If you're hoping the door won't slam shut on you when parked on an ascent or tilt, this won't help you. It will however keep the door open when parked on a flat surface when there's high winds.

It was definitely time to replace the old one on my 2002 CR-V. Super quick and easy. One 8mm bolt and two 10mm bolts.

I am happy with the price, te installtion ease and initial performnce of this strut. The installation took me about 20 minutes on my older Honda CRV 2003 rear cargo door that closed too often unecessarily while loading items (wind). This item, priced right, seems durable, fixed the annoying sudden closing issue and should last the car's life time now. I used a 8 mm wrench on the body connection bolt and 10 mm socket wrench on the 2 door connection bolts to atttch this strut to outermost portion of door.. Fairly EZ job.

Very good stuff, do the job of holding the tail gate at any angle (that exceeded my expectations since I thought it could only open fully or close fully). Very easy to put on, I have no experience with fixing any part of cars after watching a YouTube video I got it on my 2002 CRV fits perfectly. Recommend the product. The tools required are also very common and cheap showed in picture.

Be careful during assembly to not let your door swing too far outwards - it could damage your tail light as there’s no buffer to stop it while unbolting and removing the old door strut. Works great, exactly what you’d expect for 1/7th of Honda’s asking price for their part# 74825-S9A-003

I have a Honda CRV and the back door hydraulic fluid leaked out, bought this to replace the old one. So far it’s still working and my only complaint is that the door opens a bit too fast so I worry it may not last long but for the price I can’t really complain.
