Multiple functions. I know it's sold for cats. In my case, I use it to prevent my dog from staining if he urinates on it. So far, it's worked and it hasn't come off... just wipe it with a cloth and that's it! Excellent material.

It doesn't stick to the sofa at all. I've had to cut new pieces over and over again, as they start peeling/falling off within weeks, if not days, and once they do, after pressing it back on it begins to peel off the furniture again with minutes to hours at best. The appearance is unflattering, it's very shiny, shinier than plastic wrap, so it's very noticeable on my dark sofa. I don't trust this for scratching ability at all, I used it to stop my cats from scratching where they had already begun, they could easily scratch right through this. Lack of functioning, decent installation, far too shiny and poor scratching ability causes me to leave this honest review, which is that I would not recommend this in a high visible area, or with cats that try to scratch your furniture.

I read all of the descriptions and reviews, crossed my fingers and ordered this. Twice. Bought more for our daughter’s couch. Just the right thickness, sticks well. Protects our new sectional very well. Kitties occasionally put a claw in it and are able to make a tiny puncture. I was worried at first that it wasn’t gonna hold up, but It has! I’d rather have one small puncture in the plastic than the fabric pulled. Still looks fresh and clean. Would recommend.

worked like a charm to protect our new couches. easy enough to cut and apply. cats don't want anything to do with it. but...several pieces are coming off after a few months.

Idk maybe I didn’t read the product fully so could be my ignorance but I thought this would be a tad bit thicker.? I knew it would be kind of a sticky tape but didn’t think it would be as thin as regular tape. It’s similar to clear packing tape almost. Just bigger pieces. My dog scratched through it with ease, so I doubt it would protect a couch from kitty claws or anything. I think it could be used for certain purposes but didn’t work for protecting the wooden chairs I have. Just a heads up!
