Had these just shy of 3 years now in an old '01 Chevy Blazer. They're a good cost-conscious upgrade from the factory front door speakers and dash tweeters. Not audiophile by a long shot, but decent for an old SUV.

I didnt buy these for competition, you might want the R or X series of speakers for that. However Alpine offers great sound clarity and thats what I wanted. They did not dissapoint. Incredible difference from stock, and still better sounding speakers than almost all more expensive comparable speakers. UrbanInspirations came through for me. Will buy again from them.

Excellent for the price. Using a 45w RMS amp on these and they sound much better at high volume than with head unit and sound a little better than the 2015 vw factory (which are still the front speakers). Had these powered by my kendwood and they sounded like garbage until I turned up the power with a little $100 pioneer 4ch - certainly with it.These have excellent highs. Mid range is acceptable and low end just there. Have it paired with a 600w rms 12 alpine r type sub and amp and it’s the perfect balance. I do get static sounds from the tweeters occasionally an about half volume. I regularly listen to these at 85% volume which is about as loud as they get before they start distorting. At 45w rms over 4 pairs of combos - I’d say this is almost pound enough to be too loud but not quite (had 75w rms on some r type components and they’d get too loud).Would certainly buy again. Built in crossovers were a big plus as I didn’t want to have to mount a separate crossover.

Comes with everything I needed for my 2007 Chevy 1500 classic, base model. Factory speakers were muddy/ static at low volume levels, probably abused by previous owner, installed these, problem solved. Many other parts included for other configurations, Perfect fit for OEM replacement on my truck, minor wiring connector changes to use factory speaker leads required, no big deal. Great sound quality as always from Alpine. Stock stereo doesn't drive these speakers to thier full potential, I'm sure. Alpine decks and speakers for my OEM replacements/ upgrades all the way.P.S. : Do your research , ask somebody, whatever, don't get impatient with those door panels and break your hardware, if that snapped clip or fastener rattles or the panel is loose later you are probably gonna be sorry. And, Oh, Lord, hang on tight when driving those screws to secure the speakers, don't get crazy and puncture the surround. That sucks, trust me.OK, Amazon, your review is complete. Out of the 20 items I bought over the last 6 months, this is the only one I wrote about.Because I really like my tunes in my rigs. And if part of this helps just one other dude/ ette,....Peace

These are very clean, I have them installed in the front doors of my car, The tweeter is flush mounted and looks great. I am powering this set with a Lightning audio 150w RMS 2 channel, The low bass response is fair-good, the mids and highs are amazing. They sound almost as good as the infinity reference components I had in my other car. I recommend them for the money as long as you aren't an audiophile you will be happy with the purchase. If you want good sound without spending a lot of money these are the speakers for you.I also did run them on my headunit (24w RMS per speaker) they sounded good still but putting them on an amp really brought them to life. They will run happily on an aftermarket headunit or on a low/ moderately powered amp.

I installed these in another car before and they have been fantastic for the last year. I had put Kicker coax speakers in my other car previously as well. I should have known the Kickers were crap when 2 of them blew in a row, I had to get 2 replacement sets from Crutchfield. Now that they are out of warranty, a third Kicker is making its death rattle and it's time to replace them for good. I ordered a set of these and they sound fantastic. Way more crisp and detailed than those kickers. They aren't high level audio, but for the price, these components sound pretty good. The have decent bass for their size when they loosen up. Took my first pair about about 2 months before I noticed they weren't as tight, a year in they sound really good. The tweeters are clear but not overpowering and don't hiss. Overall a good well-rounded set for any car. They are thin as well, so if you have issues with deep speakers hitting the window, get these, they are shallower than most of the stock speakers I'm replacing.

I suppose that it is true what they say about getting what you pay for. These speakers are OK, but I guess I was expecting more.I purchased these speakers to replace the front door speakers in my 2007 Pontiac Vibe (with the stock stereo system). The factory speakers sounded weak, and they are located down at the bottom of the door panel (which makes them sound muffled). I liked the Alpine name, and the fact that the tweeters were separate. I was hoping to solve the problem of an under-powered mid/low speaker AND also spread the sound around with the separate tweeter. Unfortunately, I only solved one of the issues. While I was able to get the tweeter moved a little higher on the door panel (I put it on the plastic cover piece opposite of the mirror), the speaker itself sounds weaker than the crappy cardboard factory speaker I took out (not much in the way of bass). Before I installed them, I had planned on purchasing another set for the rear. Now that they are in, I have decided not to.In addition to the mediocre sound, the speakers were a lot of work to install in my Vibe and required a fair bit of modification/fabrication to the existing speaker mounts (although this isn't really a fault of the Alpine speaker set).In hindsight, I am not sure if I would do it all over again. I like the separate tweeter, and the sound is no worse than it was before I began, but... I spent 3-4 hours installing them (and I am fairly experienced doing this kind of thing), and I am not sure I gained much on the sound end of the spectrum.
