Nice hood. fits perfect on my lenses. Looks and works better than the one that came with my Nikon D3300 camera Kit. Yes there is shadowing when used wider than 24mm, but just fold hood all the way back and shadowing is gone! The hood works and looks great. Fits perfect on lenses that came with my Nikon D3300 camera kit. It is far better than the one that came with kit. Yes there is shadowing when you go wider than 24mm, but just fold hood back rest of the way and shadows disappear. No problem.Delivery was right on time. And there was no shipping cost, which made this a very good price! This one was a bit hard to find in catalog. Needs to be at top of list of hoods It is the best one.

I love soft hoods and this one is well made. Convenient that it collapses for storage without removal. Nice that the ability to collapse it a bit at a time means you can control how much it shades the lens opening. Also, with a rubber lens hood, if you bonk the hood into something it isn't going to damage the filter thread or lens mount. I do wish it was slightly more rigid to give more cushion to the lens in the event of a camera drop. But I've learned the hard way, years ago, to keep a good grip on my camera and always check the strap connections every time I use it (so no camera drops).Great hood for the money, I'll probably buy a couple more soon!

I was searching for a rubber lens hood for my Sigma 18-250mm zoom lens, and I was pleasantly surprised to come across this familiar brand from the past! I've always found AGFA products to be excellent, so I confidently went for this straight away, and I've not been disappointed. The lens hood seems tough & well made, and a nice feature is can fold to 3 positions- fully extended when being used for telephoto work, mid-way for medium-wide angle photos, and fully retracted when it's not needed. In mid-position, there was no vignetting at 18mm with my lens. Being rubber, it also protects your lens from knocks to some extent, in whichever position it's in. Unlike some hoods, this one is also threadded on the front, so you can put the lens cap on securely, as well as fitting filters.Another bonus of this kind of hood is that it offers some support to the lens when the camera is placed on a flat surface- for example for a self-timed photo, or to minimise vibration on a telephoto shot (when a tripod isn't available). Without the extra support, the weight of the lens would make it topple forward. I was a little surprised that the AGFA logo is nowhere to be seen on the product- I would have liked to see their logo proudly embossed on the rubber! The hood is competitively priced, and delivery was reasonably quick.

I've owned one of these before, I put it on my Canon 60D with a 40mm lens and the whole thing packs up really small and allows me to take my DSLR camera on extreme outings and sporting trips to take some spectacular photographs. Do be aware that the rubber does rot, crack and eventually tears at the threaded ring after 4-5 years approximately but the hood does a good job of keeping the sun off the lens and is quick to deploy, a great feature so it stays on the lens all the time.

I like the rubber type lens hoods as they can be left on the lens when it's put away. This one appears to be good quality and does get springs back into shape no matter how squished it got in your camera bag.

Long story short, I am very pleased with this item. I was even happy to see that Agfa was still alive and kicking. It really is a very good quality product. Given the fact that it was only $4.99 with free shipping, who am I to complain? My only concern with rubber is that it is not 100% rubber. I believe there is also some neoprene and other chemicals involved in the manufacturing process. I do spend a lot of time in the Las Vegas area, primarily in the desert. I like landscape, wildlife and plant life photography. My point is, this rubber does have a tendency to dry out and eventually crack. My solution? I use a little of my wife's moisturizing lotion to prevent that from happening. As far as leaving the hood on my camera when not in use, I just unscrew it and place back into the original box and in the bag it goes.Again, a very good product. I hope this helps. Thanks for reading.Antonio

This product is advertised as "AGFA" and as "heavy duty". It's neither. The seller is using an established brand name to try and outsell their competitors. I've owned several rubber lens hoods over the years, and while this seems ok, it's a bit flimsy. I don't think it will last very long, and so I would advise you to look elsewhere.

Has a metal thread which attaches easily to the lens/filter. The ability to adjust the length of the hood by collapsing it back on itself is really useful, as it enables it to be used with zoom lenses.

I purchased this hood in an attempt to overcome the problem of using polarising filters with bayonet-fitting hoods: normally you can't reach the filter to adjust it as it is inside the hood and inaccessible. This hood solved the problem as it sits in front of the filter which is no longer hidden. In fact, because this hood is not of a petal design, it can once fitted be turned at will without vignetting the image and therefore used as a handle to turn the filter element. A screw fitting also means I can use step-up rings to reduce the number of filters needed for a range of lens sizes.Of course, the hood profile also means it has reduced usability with wide-angle lenses due to vignetting, but this is no big deal for me as polarising filters with wide-angles are a bit of a mixed blessing anyway. As a regular hood, it works well with medium & telephoto lenses, and being rubber collapses after use to fit in the kit bag.Four stars only? Yes - because although the box was labelled Agfa, the product inside was not and is not made to the heavy quality I would expect from that brand.

The title just about sums it up. This is a quality item that works as advertised. It arrived before the due date, was well packaged, and performs as expected. My experience is, Agfa has always produced a quality product, and this is no exception.

Im using this lens hood on my Nikon 28-300. It's a good fit and I like the 3 positions. I wouldn't, however call this heavy duty. I was hoping that the rubber on this would be more stiff than the rubber hood that I have for my 18-200 lens because it can become misshapen in my camera bag. This one will likely do the same, but for the price I think it's a good value and will serve my purposes.

I've used rubber lens hoods since the late 1980's when I began SLR photography. I used them for all my lens back then - from wide angle to telephoto zooms and prime lenses. Never had a problem with them. They will not last as long as a plastic hood because the rubber - over the years - will age and deform. They will also deform if left squeezed in a wrong position for a long length of time. But rubber hoods are cheap enough to simply replace in a few years. (I only noticed age affecting my hoods after many years so it's not a huge concern.)I bought this 52mm hood for my new because I was concerned the plastic bayonet-type hood might ultimately wear or damage this light lens - at least I was concerned it had the potential to. So I decided to opt for a screw-in type rubber hood because it would afford greater protection as well as being easier to leave on.Now to specifics: this is a screw-on type hood. It has a plastic ring - like a filter - except with a collapsible rubber hood attached. The filter size of your lens is the size hood you need. You simply screw the hood onto the lens exactly as you would a filter. This hood also has another set of threads on the outside so you may screw on additional filters. You may mount it directly on the lens itself - or on a filter you may have on protecting the lens. [Note: SOME screw in rubber lens hoods do NOT have exterior threads - this AGFA does.]I had no problems at all screwing the hood onto the lens and filter - it fit nice and snug with no gaps whatsoever. I also had no problems screwing a filter onto the hood - although you should collapse the hood to its retracted position for an easier time. The rubber hood itself 'folds' - actually a better word is collapses or pops up - into three positions. Fully collapsed for storage or wide angle. A middle position for normal standard. Then fully 'popped out' for telephoto. The rubber affords excellent protection if you accidentally bang the lens against something. This type of rubber hood is excellent for lenses that do not have a bayonet mounting or lenses you'd prefer not to twist a stiff plastic bayonet-type hood on. I also ordered another AGFA rubber hood in 58mm size for my classic I highly recommend the AGFA brand rubber hood.
