I am pleased with the bed and very surprised it was easy to assemble. First, I was grateful to the delivery service for bringing the (3) large boxes into the office. He was a gentlemen and very polite. I expected two people to spend about 4 hours assembling the bed but to my surprise it took less than 2 hours for 2 people to assemble. The instructions were easy to follow and the writing was in large print making it easy to see. The screws to the handles were challenging at first until we figured out if you barely screw in the first screw then the second screw it works best. We love the look of the product but I did notice a few drops of grey paint on the inside of the wood pieces. There was also black marks on the front of the cabinet. Some of the marks washed right off but some did not. We will need to use a little touch-up paint. I have not slept on it yet to know how comfortable it is for overnight sleeping, but I'm sure it will work for our needs. I think the manufacturing company could do a better job of making sure the front cabinet doors are wrapped really good to avoid any scratches and markings. Overall I give this product a excellent review. I plan to purchase another one for another room in my office.

Re: Atlantic Furniture Nantucket Murphy Bed ChestThe Amazon reviews are spot on. This is a solid piece of furniture when it fits the need. It is well built, but note you should expect a little assembly project (2 persons and a power screwdriver). I am a 70-year old male in decent shape, and did the assembly in about an hour with a handyman helper. As mentioned in the reviews, this piece comes in three corrugated containers, so you’ll have some hefty trash to ditch as well. Amazon’s deliver was just great, right to my front door.The bedding size is standard queen, however, as the mattress is only about 6" thick, the fitted sheet is a bit looser than I'd like. Hard to find fitted sheeting that is not one-size-fits-all.Still, I found it comfortable in a quick test and our first guest (female, 52 years) said it was quite comfortable throughout her stay of two weeks.As you'll see in my photos, I mainly use this bed as a working cabinet in my home-office. Wow…just the perfect size (24.5” top depth) for my printer and cutting board. Frankly, even if I didn't need the murphy bed I would buy this again just for its size/cost/functionality as office furniture... I was tempted to store the mattress in our attic and use the inside for all of my camera gear!! ;o)BONUS! I was surprised to find the bottom right side of the cabinet has two neatly integrated built-in outlets and two USB ports. Fantastic for my guests to charge her iPhone, iPad, and laptop, with an extra outlet for a night light. Brilliant add-ons that were not included in the photos or description when I purchase then unit.I also swapped the hardware with handles that matched the rest of my recently renovated room.This piece is an exceptional piece of furniture and I would ABSOLUTELY recommend it.

This review is for the queen size cabinet murphy bed that comes with a memory foam mattress. This is a great space saver for a guest room instead of stuffing a sofa bed in there. The other reviews were helpful with the reminder that this product is delivered curbside so it's up to you to meet the delivery truck and to move it into your home. The product came in 3 boxes strapped down to a pallet. I was lucky that I'm on the ground floor and have a furniture dolly and was able to roll all 3 boxes into my place. If you don't live on the ground floor and have a flat furniture dolly you definitely need someone to help you carry each of the boxes into your home. In terms of assembly it only took under 2 hours including breakdown of the boxes and chucking the pallet. The first box had the foam mattress, the second had the base with the telescoping drawer and the remaining box had all the panels. It helps to have a cordless drill to tap all the wood screws into the back panel versus doing it manually by hand and to tap the screws in for the hinges on the panel that folds out for the mattress to lay upon. The rest of the assembly was like putting together something from IKEA. Please note that the assembly can be done by one person but you need some upper body strength to move and handle the wooden panels and moving the base. It also takes a little doing to line up the hinges for the front panels that fold out on to the telescoping drawer. You can improvise with a folded piece of cardboard from the box these came in to prop the panel up. If you need to move and take this with you, you'll need to break it down again as it weighs more than several hundred pounds fully assembled. It was nice there were an extra screw/part for almost everything. The only thing off that I noticed was the finish on the front panels and drawers was spotty at best but not noticeable from a distance. It also has a chemical smell but that goes away eventually. This is a more practical solution than the classic murphy wall bed that requires a lot more work to attach to the wall - All the murphy bed kits I have seen, generally do not include a mattress which ups the overall cost. If you ever move or need to move the bed to do something like replacing carpet or putting in wood floors, you'll need to dissemble the murphy bed.
