I wanted a MAC. Lucky for me I came across this Acer PC and once I compared specifications and at less than half the price it was a no brainer. Why did I want a MAC? I take videos in 4K . On my Win7 Sony laptop I couldn't view them, had to convert them. I also use a gigantic stock trading program. Other than that I need a secure PC and my Sony's Win7 had expired. This Acer handles 4K video no problem. I can't tell any difference in the quality between my wife's I-Pad retina display and this PC other than the obvious screen size. The quality is fantastic but I do have bad eyesight and use reading glasses. I've adapted quickly to Win10, I like the news and weather tiles. I've already installed Open Office, Spider Solitaire for Win7, and the Mahjong that comes with is fine for me. That's the extent of my gaming. So I mentioned I also trade stocks. I have a trading program that use to make my dual monitor Sony laptop cooling fans scream. This Acer PC is silent. Even when using photoshop and browsing at the same time. I also connected my 1TB external hard drive without issue and had some backup photo DVDs that my Sony could not read This DVD drive had no trouble at all.So don't spit into the wind, this is a great PC and I'm very happy with it so far.Other Pros:Super fast reboot time with the SSD, quiet, fast.Almost instant on from hibernation if you can loose the Microsoft network password screen. (setup as local)Faster on my Wi-Fi than previous Sony.Cons:More bloatware than I expected. (yet very easy to uninstall with just a right click on the icon)Access to jacks, ports, SD card slot, etc. is a chore. No indicators on front.Initial setup & password BS re: Microsoft Network, took 4ever for me learn to setup local & bypass passwords.Vertical monitor height adjustment would be better.Edge browser and Firefox cannot be used for Dish Anywhere. (Update 4/27: Edge now works with version 81.0.416.64 (Official build) (64-bit)Learning new browser bookmark methods is a pain but I do like the Edge browser.

I use this computer daily, I am an IT Administrator and Software specialist. For my use I was looking for a laptop, but my specs that I needed in a pc were specific. There were no laptops around for a good price for my specs. When I came across this AIO, I was shocked that these specs were available for someone like me at a reasonable price. I already have a super computer used for testing and pushing specs to the brink, but I needed a smaller pc to handle day to day emails, research, IT Support without it failing and taking forever. This AIO is perfect, I don't have to worry about graphics cards getting to hot in a laptop and burning out, since my graphics ability is done on my super pc. I needed a fast processor so I was not waiting forever for boot up and instant work. This AIO has all, fast drive, great processor , amazing storage, great visual and the audio is way perfect. I am so glad I purchased this AIO and if you are looking for a laptop, you might want to consider this instead, especially if it is not needed to carry it around with you. Screen size is perfect and tilts and is very vivid. Don't pass this deal up....perfect specs. I did have to upgrade the OS for managing the software better. But that was all I did to this pc.

A quick bit of background: I've mostly used Macs Pros and MacBook Pros for the past 15 years or so, but my company's remote desktop situation doesn't really play well with Macs.Planning for the few times when I would be working from home, around three years ago I bought a Lenovo laptop. Unfortunately, that one turned out to be a lemon from the first time I fired it up.Maybe 2 years ago, I bought a Dell Inspiron all-in-one, but I made the error of trying to save money and getting an AMD processor rather than an Intel. That machine was always slow and creaky as well, and I was never happy with it. I eventually just zeroed out the hard drive and gave it to my wife's grandson. Now, because of the COVID-19 situation, every employee of my company has been required to work from home since March 17, and will have to do so at least through May. I have had my fill of the hit-or-miss remote desktop connection through my Mac Pro, so I did some research and bought this Acer through Amazon. 12GB RAM (for comparison, my Mac has 128GB), 512GB SSD, i5 processor.Initial setup was a breeze, and it took very little time to get the computer customized to my preferences. I have a very fast and robust Internet connection, so downloading and installing the various apps I wanted took little time. Connecting to my work computer through Remote Desktop (and using two monitors) worked on the first try.I did a little timing today: From full power-off to login screen was 7.8 seconds, and a total of 15 seconds to the desktop. When restarting, it was 9.2 seconds to the login screen and a total of 17 seconds to the desktop. In the 35 years I've been using computers, I've never had a piece of hardware that booted up so quickly, and my Macs and MBPs all have SSDs as well.At any rate, it's a small sample size as I've only used it for 3 days, but thus far, I could not be happier with this computer. Especially considering the price, it's by far the best I've ever owned (sorry, Mac Pro).
