Plug and Run, was up and running on Raspberry PI 5 with in seconds. The item has a (Realtek Wi-Fi) chip set. No driver installations, getting around 250 Mbps, Happy with purchase, its a keeper. Definitely a 5-Star

Good performance for this little adapter. Purchased a few and only one issue.Pro 1: No drivers needed.Pro 2: Decent signal strength for what it is.Pro 3: Antenna. It really does help avoid interference.Con: It can get hot. Had one fail because it got too hot. It was hot to the touch.Pro Tip: Place it on the highest USB port you are willing to use to maximize signal strength.Would I buy it again? Yes.

Its not fast by any means but if for whatever reason you have to get this one over another, it does its job. Comes with a CD for drivers, not sure if I was just lucky or not but I plugged it in and didn't have to install any drivers, thankfully since I don't have a disk drive. I'm a little far from my router and I get about 12mb/s.

For the most part these do what is needed at a moderate speed for wifi. For the price they are great.They seem to be mass produced and might come out of the box dead or die over time. Out of the dozen or so that I have purchased i think I have had 3 go bad. I always had a back up so it did not bother me so much.I would not recommend for gaming - invest in a higher end pcie card or higher end dongle.

No brand name on it. No instructions, except one sentence on the mini-disc. Turns out there is a pdf instruction manual on the disc. It says manufacturer is RealTek, not same as stated on the Amazon web page. Manual contradicts what it said on disc, it says plug adapter in before installing driver. Program did not start automatically, I had to explore disc and click on "autorun" icon to start it. It failed, got message "error reading setup initialization." Tried without adapter plugged in, same thing.I got this for an old computer with Windows XP, and that is actually what the manual is written for. I tried using the standard XP new hardware installation procedure, and that didn't work either. I also have a new Windows 10 computer, and other reviewers say it's plug-and-play with that OS, so I guess I'll hang onto it in case I ever need it for that. But it didn't do what I bought it for.It came in a small plastic zip-pak, and that was put into a big thin plastic bag for shipment. No protection at all. I'm amazed it arrived undamaged.
