Yes it looks old and dated, but it works. Sometimes flashy is not better. I upgraded to this ABCD switch from an AB switch of the exact same make. I needed another output. The clicks on the knob are positive. The VGA jacks are secure. I use it in our church to switch from computer input to camera input to DVD input with the out running to the VGA splitter which then sends the signal to the TV screens in the sanctuary. The 4th input is not used at this time (room for expansion). This unit is bi-directional so you could run one input source into the switch and switch that signal between 4 different monitors.

Cheap cheap cheap. Of course now with the HDMIs who will need a VGA switch? Well many people might need! Do not buy this one!

This item has proven very useful for me to have a laptop hooked up to another monitor for dual screen use along with switching back and forth to my desktop! Price was great too!

I have used the box for 6 months, maybe 10-15 switches per week. After 6 months, something inside broke and the switch knob turns freely without switching.

This product does what it says. You connect up to four VGA devices, and then you can switch between them. It doesn't require a power source either. Does it look like it's from the 80's?Yes, but that's not a reason not to buy.I use it to hook up a PC and Apple TV to a projector. (Hooking the Apple TV through VGA and into a soundboard was insanely hard)What can I say? It works. It has a little static when switching video sources, but nothing beyond that. I haven't experienced any color issues. If you need a simple VGA switcher, this is it.

Its a good thing this is hidden in my server closet, the color is a strange old school green tint. Its not what it looks like in the picture. luckily the color doesnt hurt the performance. I'm using 3 of the 4 ports. I've got a security camera system connected, a computer built for a media server and a Windows XP PC acting a server for my business which also has someone connecting to it through the internet. I needed it because the closet only has space for 1 monitor but didnt want some ugly KVM spider-looking set up when I really didnt need it. The switch feels good, almost mushy feeling on one input but it all works fine. For the price this is great. It also doesnt need a power source which is excellent since outlets are running low in that closet. If you're going to hide this thing away like I did its great, on a desk..it might ruin the good looks of a nice PC. As usual Amazon was VERY quick to get it to me. I've noticed even though I've got Prime I'm getting a lot of packages in one day instead of two! I love Amazon!

It ain't pretty, and as another reviewer said it isn't the white/cream color displayed. Mine was an Exorcist vomit green. If you're in this for aesthetics don't buy it.Otherwise function is simple and this switch performs well. I think I remember having a similar switch back in '95. If this switch is anything like the one I used to have I'm sure the device's lifespan will far outlast your need for it. This old-style tech is solidly built.

I bought this to use my HD LCD TV as my monitor but I didn't want to stop using the computer monitor either. I just wanted to send the video to another screen instantly. This does exactly that.Pros:-Works-Does not require ANY power source. It does not plug into anything.-Sturdy switch seems like it would last a long time-allows exporting the video signal to 4 monitorsCons:-It looks ugly. It's not white like in the picture. They could have at least painted it black or something.-It's very very light which means when you plug the cords into the back, the cords will lift the item off the table or the ground. It won't lay flat on its own. You'll need to weigh it down.-Sometimes the connection screws up. I switched to a different monitor the other day and everything was pink. I switched back to the other monitor, changed resolutions, switched back and the problem was fixed.Remember when switching to a different display, you must adjust your resolution if the next display doesn't permit the resolution you use. Otherwise it will be fuzzy and unreadable or it just won't display at all. This is especially true for those in abnormal or higher resolutions. All in all, I'm happy with it. It works just like I expected and I got a good deal on it too. Very cheap.
