Very easy to use! Comes with VERY good instructions!! The reason I ordered this, is because it has TWO different modes of heat, (PLUS cooling!!) as a selection- which in #vanlife is important, or in an RV. If you are in a colder climate, and your propane runs out, this can control electric heat as well (or other, do you use a relay.) it has the ability to also control fan speed (high/low). This is an amazing multi function thermostat, and- IT IS EASY TO USE. Comes with mounting help, pinout, troubleshooting, and other things in the high quality instructions. This is a very good unit! It defaults to displaying the ambient temperature, which is nice. It runs on 12VDC. I recommend using relays for everything and not relying on anything internal to the thermostat. Minimize current draw, and it should last a long time. It is also well made
