Why Do Pots Need Drain Holes?
1.With the exception of a few aquatic plants, plant roots don’t like to sit in water. They need to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide with the air, and excess water closes off the air pockets in soil. Plants in pots without drainage holes are prone to becoming overwatered. Even if the soil surface appears dry, the soil at the bottom of the pot may be sopping wet. Waterlogged soil can lead to root rot, a serious condition that can easily damage your plants.
2. Tap water and fertilizers contain salts that can harm plants. As plant roots take in water, they leave some of the salts behind, and salts concentrate in the soil over time. When you water thoroughly and let the water flow out through the drainage holes in the bottom of the container, salts are flushed out of the soil. With no drainage holes, salts are never removed from the soil but just keep building up, creating an unhealthy environment for your plants.

These pots are heavier than others work well for starting flowers or even growing.They are thin but not bad for price.

They are thin plastic pots so they're not the sturdiest things out there but for how thin they are they're pretty dang good. I haven't had any crumple or bend but you can still kind of mush them if you need the plants to fit in a space for transport or whatever.I actually used them to pot Orange Hat tomatos for wedding favors. I did not need this many but hey, extra pots are always good around the garden!

I am getting into the "growing baby succulents" craze, and the babies were getting a bit too big, so I needed a bigger boat - I mean pot.These do the job well. They are a bit thin, but if you fill them up with dirt, they are perfect. They withstand the California sun much better than the yogurt pots I was using, which become brittle and crumble up after a couple of month. The pots can be reused several times, although many have been gifted - with a teenager-sized succulent inside - to friends.
