These ABEC #7 bearings have ceramic balls with stainless steel races and retainers. Orange Seal bearings have a non-contact rubber seal which allows the bearing to spin freely with out any excess drag. Ceramic will never corrode; it has less rolling resistance and is lighter and than steel. As a result ceramic bearings last longer and cast longer. According to the Garcia Schematics the OEM outer spool bearings are part number 5230. When applied to the Boca bearing interchange part. The Boca replacement is listed as an inside diameter of 4mm. Using a micrometer, actual inside diameter is 3mm on the original 5230 bearing. Boca does recommend that you first measure your bearing before purchase. The attached pics shows the correct part number and the bearing in the reel.Initial difference in distance pitching the same weight was about 40 feet with the Boca, 10 feet more than the original bearings. Spin on the spool was much smoother and less noise. They are a premium bearing but seem to deliver a better cast. This is nearly a 50 year old reel that still works. This reel will probably outlive me. Pleased with the bearing and considering changing other reel’s bearings with Boca.

Casts further and easier than my stock bearings. I put these Bocas on my Shimano curado 300ej. Shipped supper quick! Gave me a 15% coupon as well. Packaging was nice and very professional looking. Would recommend buying from this company. They will see my money again :)

Absolutely would recommend these for any old(or new) baitcasters. I put them in a old lews bb-1lmg and its night and day difference the free spool is just amazing. Next up is a bb-2n and then a bb-1n

I bought 2 of these for both my abu garcia reels. A vintage 5000 and 5500c. Triple checked measurements and even was told to get this exact one from boca website for my reels. Went to install and the 5000 its exact size of spool rod as the hole so cant go in unless shave like .000001% away.... then the 5500c the bearings are way wider.... waste of time and money tho will be returning.

Have a 16 year old Curado 100B that still worked good,with smooth gears. Replaced the spool bearings with these ceramic and it never cast as good as now. Just a little flick is all it takes. Worth the money, especially on an old reel.

HO LEE CHIT, these bearings made one hell of a difference! Just an underhand toss and it cast as far as the factory bearings did on a full throw! Ordered one pair, put them in and tried it that day. I just ordered 2 more sets!
