Cazoner RV Carbon Monoxide & Propane Detector, 3 in 1 Natural CO/LP Gas Alarm - This is one of those products that leaves you guessing and wondering if it is actually working or will actually work when you need it. It's very difficult to ascertain either, especially once it's permanently installed in a location. You could get a portable propane torch set and release a tiny amount of gas from the bottle (unlit and away from any other ignition source) near the monitor and check/listen for a reaction; for CO use a can of CO detector tester spray and spray some near it, then check/listen for a reaction. Better yet, have a qualified technician come out and check it. There are numerous ways to go about it, but again, you may never know if/when it's actually working at that moment and time in your life when it's critical. Placement is also critical on certain types of gas monitors: too close to a source means it may give a warning continuously, too far away, well...; but the main concern is the height placement for certain gases. As a rule, all gases expand to fill the space available. I believe CO spreads evenly, so height is not necessarily an issue, but most suggest about 5 feet off the floor; for propane detectors, near the floor; natural gas detectors, near the ceiling. What you will find is you may need to purchase more than one detector depending on what gases you are trying to monitor. Having said all that, the instructions for this monitor are lacking and that doesn't help.I installed my monitor January 2025 and I really do not trust it's working properly; except for the so-called 'self test' there's nothing to give you that warm fuzzy feeling. Also, I do not know that it has met testing standards for the USA. The listing states, "meets UL1484 and UL2034 certifications and undergoes strict in-house quality control to ensure reliability" but where is that certification on the product itself (I cannot find it); beyond that, where was the certification performed and by whom? These are legitimate questions. But this is about average for what is being offered on the market these days, so I cannot recommend it given those concerns.

Although the product description here at Amazon claims that it meets two UL approval standards and also claim that it undergoes 'rigorous in-house testing' that is not the same thing as being U.L approved.U.L. approval is the gold standard here in the USA for electrical product safety, and without specifically stating that it is in fact U.L. approved, one is left with suspicions as to how far to trust this product. There is no way to give this a 'real world' test to see whether it will 'actually;' measure life-threatening gas levels, and so you're required to place your life in this company's hands. Those points aside, be advised that this will only detect 'one' of the three gases it lists, depending on how you mount it and so if you want to be able to detect all three you're going to have to purchase multiple units. It's easy to install but, quite frankly, so are similar units from other manufacturers. You may wish to look a bit carefully at some other available options because there's a chance that your life and the lives of those you love may depend on this. It's difficult for me to recommend this product as it is. I know that it costs money for the company to have U.L. test a product, but I'd suggest that the critical nature of a product like this warrants a thorough level of confidence in it and I confess I just don't have it.

I tested this with my propane grill (I have propane backup furnace heat), and with my car in garage to trigger CO.Both tests were fairly accurate as compared to several other monitors I already have.As these don't have built in battery backup, if you have spotty power drops, this thing can be very chatty.I almost docked it one star, because you can't understand exactly what the voice alerts are saying, but is loud enough to know something is alerting. You either want to set it at lowest level (explosive gas such as Propane is heavy and settles low) or high if you are wanting to monitor CO, which is light and goes highest level in room.Wish it had built in battery backup (i.e. CR123), but it does come with wired port on the back, where you can wire it up to some low voltage power source. The regular power source is a 5v usb-cThis one I attached down low, next to my propane furnace.

My wife and our cats are everything to me. Although, one night some strays we were caring for went into the kitchen, jumped up onto the gas stove, and accidentally turned on one burner, and accidentally turned the gas on another. We were almost asleep. I heard some clicking and didn't know what it was, so luckily I got out of bed to check it out. By that time gas had risen to the sealing and had filled the room down to about six or 7 feet off the ground. If I had been asleep the gas would have eventually gotten down to the list burner and our house would have been blown to pieces, our tawdry possessions scattered about the neighborhood and us dead.If you have a gas stove or furnace you need a gas detector and a carbon monoxide detector. This device is both.It can operate on batteries, be plugged in via USB-C or hardwired into your house, garage, camper or brothel. It's loud, and should be a good warning system. I wish the display was a little more informative with the status. It only flashes every 30 seconds but otherwise is indistinguishable from off. It would be nice if it is more obvious that it is functional.

I feel so much more secure having this installed in our RV. It’s compact, easy to set up with USB-C, and gives early warnings for CO, propane, and natural gas. Peace of mind in one device, especially when traveling with kids and pets.
