The tube diameter is much smaller than the original schwinn unit.

Liked the excellent adjust-ability compared to similar products with only 3 holes to mount to the rear axle. Did not like the fact that the clamps had do be drilled out to fit a standard BMX bike rear axle. Once mounted it performs as expected.
