This is a relatively small roll (24" by 10') of sculpting wire mesh, but it is a quality product. It holds its shape well when bent into different configurations and is lightweight (aluminum, so also non-rusting) so is easy to work with. It can be cut using normal household scissors, although if you have something more heavy-duty that is even easier and wouldn't dull your regular scissors.

I'm really enjoying this mesh for creating sculptural forms. It's very easy to shape and bend, and the fine mesh allows for some great detail. I'm using it over a base mask form, just for detail work, so it's able to stand up to paper mache with no problems, but I'm not sure it would be strong enough without a similar armature. That's fine, as it can be reserved for finer portions of the structure instead, or for smaller works overall, but it is something to be aware of.

I do quite a bit of work casting and molding fast set concrete. I have tried using stainless steel mesh is the past, but have found it very difficult to form for small objects. This aluminum wire mesh is different. It forms very easily and holds its shape. This will be very helpful for many of my concrete projects. I can make a foam core and cover the foam with this mesh to get the detail I need.

A good amount of sculpting mesh wire.It bends and folds and should work well for dragon wings and other non supported items. It's a bit pricey, but you get a lot of it, making it a pretty good deal.

I originally picked up the SIOLYAG 24" x 10' sculpting wire mesh for my younger daughter, who’s always knee-deep in one creative project or another. She’s the kind of kid who doesn’t just try a new art medium—she dives in headfirst, whether it’s clay, foam, or fabrics. I thought she’d use this mesh for a traditional sculpting base, maybe something abstract or clay-based, but I should have known better. She ended up crafting a large, whimsical mushroom hat for the local Renaissance fair, using the mesh as the outer structure. Leave it to her to reinterpret a product’s purpose in a way I wouldn’t have considered. The mesh itself is surprisingly lightweight and flexible, which worked out perfectly for her headpiece. It's not something you'd want to rely on for structural integrity by itself—it’s too soft and pliable to serve as a standalone armature unless you're working on something extremely light. But if you're building over a wireframe or shaping around something else, it’s ideal. It holds its shape when you bend and mold it, and the open weave gives you lots of anchoring points for materials like fabric, clay, or foam. It also cuts easily with scissors, which made it less intimidating for her to work with on her own.The roll comes nicely compacted and was clean out of the box—no strange smells or residue like some lower-quality mesh can have. It unrolls relatively flat and doesn’t have a heavy memory that makes it curl up or fight you. One thing to be aware of, though, is that the edges can be a little sharp. We didn’t have any mishaps, but I made sure to supervise during the first few cuts and kept her gloves nearby, just in case.I wouldn’t use this for something heavy-duty like large outdoor sculptures or structural modeling—it’s just not designed for that. But for cosplay builds, craft projects, or anything that needs a lightweight, shapeable surface, it’s a great addition to the art bin. It would’ve been a dream when she was deep into her papier-mâché stage—way less mess and more control over shapes. It’s a solid four stars from me. It’s not a heavy-duty mesh, but for the right use, it’s a lightweight star.

Nice versatile and flexible mesh that will come in handy for adding strength when using various sculpting methods. But also is flexible enough to be shaped as needed. Came in a decent sturdy box which I'll keep it in when not in use so it stays in the nice roll.

This is a very malleable, very fine mesh that is perfect to use to form intricate shapes before covering them with clay, plaster of paris, papier mache or whatever. I have used various sizes of chicken wire in the past and that is great for large pieces, but useless for detailed work. Since you may be covering this with material that is wet, it's great that it's stainless so your underlayment won't have rust stains seeping through. Also great that it can withstand high temperatures in case you use polymer clay and have to put it in an oven to finish it. 24" X 10' is enough material for several projects of the type that I make, so the price is reasonable for me. Please note that at one point in the description of the item it says that it is a "Generous Size: Measuring approximately 24 inches×100ft". That is an error, and everywhere else it states the correct size of 24" X 10'.
