You could use these as a proper archery arm gaurd but I would get something different. These feel like thick vinyl and gave a gorgeous Norse pagan design, but I doubt the design would last long in actual use, and really thick leather would be more durable.You do have to lace these yourself, which can be a bit tedious. The laces are lightly plastic coated cord, so the ends are not bad to fray when first lacing them.These do fit a large muscular forearm on a 6'1" 250lb man.

great for a costume! very versatile from a witch to steampunk to fallout character These were a little stiff to start with but get the job done. Wish they were a little longer for an adult but they are just as described and pictured.
