  • Absolutely. The drill bits are sharp and designed for precision, making it easier to start holes and extract screws cleanly. While some users found them less effective on very hard steel, most report strong performance across common repair tasks.

  • A standard electric drill works best. For optimal results, use slow speed and consistent pressure. Left-hand drill bits are included—these help loosen screws as you drill.

  • Yes! The set includes clear instructions, and many first-time users have reported great success. Start small, go slow, and let the bit do the work—no special experience required.

  • Our set includes more bit and extractor sizes than most competitors, comes in a durable storage case, and is priced right. Many users found it more reliable than other brands they tried before.

How to Remove a Broken Screw Using a Left-Hand Drill Bit & Screw Extractor Set

  1. Choose the Right Left-Hand Drill Bit Size:For safe and efficient damaged screw removal, select a 4341 high-speed steel (HSS) left-hand drill bit that’s 2–3mm smaller than the broken bolt diameter.
  2. Use a Reversible Drill for Counterclockwise Drilling:Ensure your electric drill has a reverse (counterclockwise) function. Left-hand bits only work effectively when spinning in reverse to loosen stuck or rusted screws.
  3. Mark the Center with a Punch for Precision:To prevent slipping, mark the center of the broken screw using a center punch. This helps the left-hand drill bit stay on target.
  4. Drill Slowly at Low Speed (100–300 RPM):Maintain control and avoid overheating by drilling slowly. This is crucial for both safety and bit durability during broken bolt extraction.
  5. Apply Steady Pressure—Don't Force It:Let the screw extractor tool do the work. Excessive pressure can cause the bit to snap or the hole to drift.
  6. Clear Metal Shavings as You Go:Pause every 1–2mm to lift the bit slightly and clear chips. This keeps the bit cool and avoids clogging the drill path.
  7. Use Lubricant for Hard Metal Screws:Apply cutting oil or lubricant to reduce friction and prevent overheating—especially when removing rusted bolts or hardened screws.
  8. Drill Only Two-Thirds Deep into the Screw:Drilling too far may damage the threaded hole. Stop once you’re 2/3 to 3/4 through the screw length to prep for extraction.
  9. Insert the Screw Extractor & Turn Counterclockwise:Use the correct size extractor and twist it slowly counterclockwise to grip and remove the broken screw. This is where the easy screw removal tool does its magic.
  10. Inspect and Restore the Thread Hole:After successful screw removal, inspect the threads. Use a tap tool if needed to clean or reshape the hole before inserting a new screw.

I recently picked up this multi-bit Screw Extractor Set with Left-Handed Drill Bits, and I have to say, it's a game-changer for tackling those stubborn, stripped screws. this set is a must-have in your toolbox. The set includes a variety of extractor bits, ranging from smaller to larger sizes, plus a few left-handed drill bits. The left-handed drill bits are especially useful because they rotate counterclockwise—this helps “unscrew” the damaged screw as you drill, which often results in the screw loosening itself without needing a lot of extra effort. The build quality is solid. The extractors are made from durable materials, The bits feel sturdy and well-crafted, ensuring they won’t break or wear out after just a few uses. The handy storage box keeps everything handy for when you need

This kit has everything I need to remove broken bolts from the left hand drill bit to the easy out selection! Just having left handed drill bits can be the only tool needed if it grabs the screw and backs it out. If needed the easy out can be inserted into the hole that was drilled for additional torque in removing stuck bolts. I like that there are additional drill bits and easy outs in the smaller sizes anticipating damage to either.Nice kit in a nice easily stored case to keep everything organized! A product I recommend!

Received the screw extractor set, and both the drill bits and extractors seem to be of good quality. It performed excellently when removing rusted screws. Following the instructions, I successfully got out several seized screws, even better than I expected. Overall, a positive experience, highly recommend.
