Read the reviews!! There’s a way to get it to work, and if you don’t do it right it doesn’t work. Takes some practice but once you get it it’s really fun! The key is to jiggle the spoon right under the image (don’t dunk the spoon!) until it begins to peel, and keep jiggling it off slowly.

Horrible product!. I purchased for my grandkids and we did everything, including watching the video and could NOT get the marker design to float off the spoon. Do not buy!. Also, when I tried to return, Amazon only gave me UPS Store to return. I have a Kohls 5 minutes from my house. No close UPS Store so I'm going to unwillingly keep the product.

My wife got this for the kids as another craft activity for them. I'd never seen anything like this and thought it was pretty unique.It could be a fun set for just about everyone, but the company didn't do themselves any favors by not including good instructions and maybe even links to instructional videos. That alone probably could have changed a lot of the negative reviews.It works best if you use enough ink in your drawing, even multiple layers of it, and make sure it dries all the way before putting it in the water. Then, don't dunk the spoon, but put it in just enough for the edge of the drawing to touch the water, then gently jiggle the spoon as you slowly put it more into the water as the edge of your drawing lifts off the spoon. It is fun once you get the hang of it, but the lack of direction by the company is a sore thumb for sure.Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful.

This does work, even though no clear instructions are included. And for that (lack of instructions) I've deducted one star - why leave your customers confused!?! Anyway, after a couple of tries, not too many, we figured out that the drawing comes off the back off the ceramic spoon if the spoon is held just under the surface of the water and not dunked all the way under; and, if the spoon is wiggled gently and patiently for a couple of seconds. Also, we figured that instead of the spoon included with the kit, other Asian soup spoons (also made of ceramic but slightly better/heavier ceramic) we have at home worked way better! This was a chance discovery but truly made this activity a lot easier and more fun. My kid, around ten years old, and her cousins (all younger than her by a couple ofyears) have gotten the hang of it and enjoy doing this by themselves. There's a 'fair' variety of colors (as in, 'good enough'; after all, this is only a fun activity, not an art project)! At around $7.99 as of the date of this review, I think this is a value for money buy! The kids in my family truly enjoy this activity! And nothing breaks, nothing is messed up (there's only water), and not much (or, none at all) prep-work is needed!

No instructions were included in the kits. With the limited instructions shown by the seller on Amazon, we tried, but the items drawn with the marker never came off the ceramic spoon. I am so disappointed, I am returning these 'kits.' I feel there is just too much missing!

I got excited when I watch the video. Thought it would be fun to do some arts with my son. I should have read the reviews before ordering. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. It's a scam! It doesn't work.
