What is Twisted Wire?
Twisting two wires together creates a neutral wire that does not activate the correction on your dog's collar. The twisted wire carries the signal from your transmitter box out to the main loop but stays neutral and allows your dog to cross over without correction (without the twisted wire your dog would not be able to cross the line that runs from your transmitter out to the boundary loop). You can also use twisted wire to connect smaller loops to the main loop, which can be used to keep your dog out of flower gardens, swimming pools, and just about any other no-go zone in your yard.

I last purchased this product in 2019, it has worked very well. I purchased it again recently and was surprised to find that it is no longer solid copper, it is now copper plated steel (it is magnetic, the original is not). Otherwise it looks identical, and the description makes no mention of this, a little disappointing. Hopefully it will work as well as the original. If the core is now steel, the price should be lower.

Unfortunately, I had to return this wire without using it because the wire from another order from Amazon was lost. I therefore couldn't use this wire. This seller did ship on time and the quality of the wire was very good. My original wire was a flimsy 20 gauge wire that did work but was easily broken as well as had a signal that was not reliable. This wire is very thick and stiff but is of a quality that would hold up to the elements and disturbances a hidden fence wire endures. If Amazon ever were to get the other wire to me I would gladly order from this seller and order this product again.

Installing my own dog barrier for my 14 acre property. This was a simple process. The spool is heavy (duh) and unwieldy but it works and was trouble free.

Super heavy duty, twisted uniformly and correctly so the dogs can pass over it. I was really happy I spent the extra money for this instead of trying to twist the wire myself.

Worked great installed it on my Sport Dog Fence 100 acre, went around about 10 acres. If you have enough left over you can just double it up and twist it in your cordless drill for entry into building.

Fantastic solution to wrapping the 2 single strands. I have a 50 ft drive and this gave me enough to run it right into my garage! Heavy duty insulation. Replace my flimsy wire this is built like a tank.

we recently installed an inground fence and purchased this to splice into it rather than twisting the wire ourselves (which would have been difficult with the heavier guage wire we used). it worked wonderfully to give my dogs a 'safe' crossing spot, and seems heavy enough to last for some time. if you're installing a fence, i'd recommend this.
