I wanted thick wicks to make wine bottle tiki torches. These were thick, but unfortunately it seems they cannot absorb enough of the fuel to stay lit.

These wicks are definitely long lasting and durable.I use them for homemade mason jar citronella torches by cutting them in half (mini jars), and even after two days use, the wicks are still similar height to what I cut them down to!They burn a nice high flame, and soak in the citronella oil quickly, so we can use them almost immediately after making our candles!I'd definitely order these again once the wicks are burnt down, but I feel that may be some time, even though we use them every weekend at the camp mornings and evenings to keep the mosquitos away!
